BUDD RETURNS TO THE DRIVER’S SEAT AT BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY’S HIGH STAKES AT THE PORT

Sicklerville, NJ (July 8, 2014) – For the first time since May 25, Matt Budd was back in the driver’s seat of his 4M Teo Pro Car on Sunday, July 6 at Bridgeport Speedway’s High Stakes at the Port Poker Series event. Starting fourteenth in the twenty-five lap race for the 811 Dig Safely Crate/Sportsman, Budd, a member of the B&M Motorsports team, slipped back a few spots to sixteenth position with two laps scored while racing on the high lane. Budd, known as “The Catfish” for his prowess of running the inside groove at Bridgeport Speedway, shifted to the lower racing lane on the third circuit. Once in his preferred path, the Vice-President of Sales and Marketing at Vahlco Racing Wheels began to regain some positions. A good multi-lap mid-race battle with Gary Hieber, Jr. saw Budd gain eleventh place with seven laps remaining in the affair. Budd could not advance any further in the closing circuits and completed the contest in eleventh place. After the race, Budd, who is running a limited schedule of events in 2014, talked about his racing calendar in the coming weeks. “I will probably try to run some events at New Egypt Speedway in the Crate Sportsman class,” declared Budd. Budd was helped in the pits on this night by his idle teammates, Brett Ballard and Brad Roberts. Ballard is planning to steer his 2014 Teo Pro Car in the Spirit Dodge Big Block Modified division at Bridgeport Speedway’s next event on Saturday, July 12 with Roberts racing his Bicknell in the 811 Dig Safely Crate/Sportsman class.
