FOUR DIVISIONS OF RACING ACTION MAKE UP A.D. MOYER LUMBER NIGHT AT GRANDVIEW
BECHTELSVILLE, PA July 8, 2014 . . . Four exciting divisions of stock car racing action will featured at NASCAR sanctioned Grandview Speedway on Saturday (July 12) night as A.D. Moyer Lumber sponsors a racing event for the first time.
The NASCAR 358 Modifieds will be joined by the BRC Late Models and Sportsman stock cars while the Blast from the Past Vintage Cars will give the fans a chance to see what racing was like some years back. The last Saturday night appearance of the Vintage cars had former Reading Fairgrounds standout Jimmy Baker winning the feature race.
In the Modifieds current point leader Jeff Strunk, a nine time track champion, will try to take another step toward winning the lucrative track and NASCAR titles. Seven time champion Craig VonDohren is closing in on Strunk as a result of his feature win last Saturday night. Duane Howard, who at one time led the standings, is back in third as a result of two tough Saturday nights.
Jared Umbenhauer continues to lead the Sportsman standings as he has seven Saturday night wins plus a Thunder on the Hill Series victory. And Randy Stoudt seems to be in control as he is coming off a big win in the Firecracker 40 Late Model event and looking to get his third win of the season on Saturday night as he looks to win another track title.
Gates open at 5:30 p.m. with the Low Down and Dirty Meet & Greet, a weekly happening, will take place at the same time at the main gate with Modified standout Mike Gular, Sportsman racer Jason Neidinger and popular Late Model racer Joe “Geezer” Fanelli taking part. They will pose for photos at their cars, sign autographs and chat with fans. Racing will get the green flag at 7:30 p.m.
Adult admission is $15 while youngsters 12 and under are admitted free. Active Military are admitted free with proper ID.
Hatfield Quality Meats will sponsor the Saturday, July 19th show which will include the 358 Modifieds, Late Models and Sportsman in a regular slate of Saturday night racing starting at 7:30 p.m. Popular Hatfield mascot “Smiley” will be on hand to shoot t-shirts and hot dogs into the stands and there will be free samples of their products in the first turn grandstand area before racing starts.
Outlaw Enduros will be featured in two 100-lap features on Sunday, July 20th at noon along with a 10-lapper for the ladies. The Blast from the Past Vintage Cars will race in two 15-lap features. Adult admission is just $10.
