Sicklerville, NJ (June 24, 2014) – Returning to Bridgeport Speedway for the first time since May 31, the H&A Motorsports team had high expectations as they entered the pit area on Saturday, June 21. With a repaired and improved Big Block engine in place, Corey Andersen, the driver of the Bicknell 9A car, was looking forward to competing in the twin twenty-one lap features on Blackjack Night. Entering the third turn on the second lap of the first main event, Andersen’s car suddenly became uncontrollable and his car collided with the outer wall. Fortunately, the Mullica Hill driver escaped serious injury from the hard impact. The car suffered severe damage and the team was forced to withdraw from further competition. Upon initial review, the team discovered that a torsion arm had snapped off the car and was the probable cause of the incident. The team is planning to make the necessary repairs and will be back in action as soon as possible.

BALLARD DEALT A BUSY NIGHT AT BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY’S BLACKJACK NIGHT
Sicklerville, NJ (June 24, 2014) – With a pair of twenty-one lap features on the race schedule for the Spirit Dodge Big Block Modifieds on Saturday, June 21, Brett Ballard, a member of B&M Motorsports, was dealt a busy night at Bridgeport Speedway. The Pennsville, NJ Big Block Modified wheelman qualified for both of the main events by finishing fourth in his qualifying race. In the first feature, the hard work put into the car by Ballard and his crew during the week paid off. A strong running Ballard ran in second place for a majority of the race. In the second half of the contest, the handling went away as his right rear tire blistered. When the checkered flag waved at the end of the first feature, Ballard was scored in eighth place. “The tire just gave up and I just hung on to finish where we did,” stated Ballard. Based on the tire issue in the first race and anticipated track conditions in the second feature, the team elected to go with a harder compound right rear tire in the nightcap event. Unfortunately, the decision did not lead to the desired outcome and he finished fifteenth in the second feature. “It was the wrong tire choice and it just didn’t work out for me,” commented Ballard. Overall, Ballard feels he has corrected most of the handling issues in his Teo Pro car with the replacement of several suspension parts. “There was an incredible difference in the car this week,” beamed Ballard. His marketing partners for 2014 include John Latwinas Farmers Insurance Agency, Larkin Auto Service, CB Productions, CTS Landscape, and Delran Auto Body. Ballard will be back in action at Bridgeport Speedway on Saturday, June 28.
Another member of the B&M Motorsports team, Brad Roberts, was competing in the 811 Dig Safely Crate/Sportsman class on this night. The evening of racing for the Delaware driver started out on a good note as he won his heat race. Starting fourth in the 20-lap feature, he motored in second place on the opening circuit. From there, Roberts began to slide back. “We did not have the power to come off the corners,” stated the driver of the 14 Bicknell car who finished in eleventh place. After the race, Roberts was focused on the next event on Saturday, June 28. “We will go back to the setup that we had prior,” revealed Roberts. Array of Monograms, Ronnie’s Auto Repair, Roberts Motors, and Nucar Wholesale Parts are his current marketing partners.
Matt Budd, a teammate of Ballard and Roberts, will be back racing on Thursday, July 3 at Bridgeport Speedway for the third hand of the 811 Dig Safely Crate/Sportsman Poker Series. Budd will be participating at a car show on Thursday, June 26 at the Home Depot in Princeton, NJ at 701 Nassau Park Boulevard near Route 1. Budd’s immaculate 4M Teo Pro car will be on display along with several other race cars from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.
