BECHTELSVILLE, PA June 24, 2014 . . . Just 14 points separate point leader Jeff Strunk from challenger Duane Howard in the chase for the lucrative NASCAR Whelen All American Series 358 Modified championship chase at Grandview Speedway.
The battle continues on Saturday, June 28th when Bashore Trucking-BFP Specialties sponsor a tripleheader show that will see the NASCAR Modifieds, Sportsman and BRC Late Models in action starting at 7:30 p.m. Highlighting the show is the 40-lap Sportsman main event that will reward the winner with $1,500 plus bonus bucks from T.P. Trailers. Point leader Jared Umbenhauer, winner of five feature races this season, will battle Brett Kressley and a host of others for the lucrative victory.
All three divisions will be featured in qualifying heat races leading up to a 30-lap feature for the Modifieds, 25-lap feature for the Late Models and 40-lap main event for the Sportsman stock cars.
As is the norm on Saturday nights a Low Down and Dirty Meet & Greet will be presented just as the main gate is opening for spectators at 5:30 p.m. Headlining the Meet & Greet will be seven time Modified champion Craig VonDohren, two time Sportsman champion Jared Umbenhauer and Sportsman talent Ken Eckert. In addition 1994 Grandview Modified champion Davey Wenger will be meeting fans and signing autographs.
Eckert supports the Ruth Steinert Memorial SPCA located in Pine Grove, PA. He will have the SPCA mascot dog “Rocket” on hand to meet fans. Rocket is a unique dog in that he needs a wheelchair to get around. There will be a Ruth Steinert Memorial SPCA Tool Box Raffle going on with tickets being sold for $3 each or two for $5. The winner will receive a multi-use tool box filled with $70 worth of lottery tickets and two passes to a future event at Grandview Speedway.
By the way “Rocket” often has a donation bag around his neck and appreciates donations to help with his medical care and feeding.
Adult admission for the Saturday, June 28th tripleheader is $20 while youngsters 6 through 12 pay just $5 and kids under 6 are admitted free.
Coming up on Tuesday, July 1, 7:30 p.m. is the Pennsylvania Sprint Speed Week 410 sprint series and Race of Champions Modifieds sponsored by Pioneer Pole Buildings.
And on Saturday, July 5th the BRC Late Models will be in the limelight with their Firecracker 40 rewarding the winner with $2,000 plus bonus bucks from T.P.Trailers. The NASCAR 358 Modifieds and Sportsman will be a part of the action along with an exciting Holiday Fireworks show. Adult admission will be $25 while youngsters 6 through 12 pay just $5 and kids under 6 are admitted FREE.

All regular Saturday night racing events have a ticket price of $15 for adults with youngsters 12 and under admitted free. Active military with proper ID are admitted free.
