McClane Claims Third Turkey 200 Presented by AS2 Home Services on Saturday, November 2 at SSP
Newberrytown, PA (November 2, 2013) – The next–to-last event of the 2013 season at the Susquehanna Speedway Park was held on Saturday afternoon, November 2, with York’s Patrick McClane claiming the victory in the 100-lap Big Car Enduro at the 10th Annual Turkey 200.< SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> McClane battled Michael Goodwin and took over the lead for good on lap 49. This is McClane’s third Turkey 200 win. Jim Jacobs finished three laps down in third, followed by Noah Frazier in fourth. Denny Nester rounded out the top five.
The Small Car 100-lap Enduro found Carlisle’s Curt McDade taking the checkers over Tom Senseney. McDade took the lead on lap 22 and never looked back. Daryl Sipe, also on the lead lap finished third. Tim Osheehan finished in fourth followed by Ricky Weaver Jr. in fifth, both who were two laps down.
Tom Hartman of Dover took the early lead of the 15-lap Mini Van feature over John Kitner. Kitner took the top spot on lap 3. With three laps remaining, Hartman regained the top spot and went on to take his first career Mini Van feature win. Kitner settled for second with Donny Groff and Zakari Kitner finishing very close behind in third and fourth respectively. Brian Steiner rounded out the top five.
On the start, Steve Cantwell took the lead, with Brandon Little taking over the top spot on the second circuit. Joe Snodgrass became the third leader of the race on lap 7. A hard-charging Matt Wallace took the lead on the final circuit to take the checkers over Snodgrass. Brandon Little settled for third with Steve Cantwell and Pete Neal finishing fourth and fifth respectively.
In the 25-lap All American Outlaw feature event, Hunter Nester grabbed the early lead. Randy Doty took the lead from Nester on lap 4 and never faltered as he went on to take the checkers over Fred Cullum and Hunter Nester. Justin Cullum finished fourth with Brad Shenk finishing in the fifth place spot.

The Final Showdown at SSP to Now Pay $10,010-To-Win on Saturday, November 16
Newberrytown, PA (October 10, 2013) – On Saturday afternoon, November 16, the Susquehanna Speedway Park will host The Final Showdown for the Super (410) Sprint Cars in the Central PA area as well as the entire United States for 2013. Also included in this special program will be the popular 358 Sprint Cars. The raindate will be Sunday, November 17. At the last 410 Sprint Car race in August, the Fishers announced that the winner of The Final Showdown” 410 Sprint Car winner will receive $10,010 to commemorate their first ten years of owning the speedway, making it the highest paying race ever held at SSP in its 59 year history.
The Super (410) Sprint Car feature event will be 30-laps and pay the winner $10,010 if the driver is pre-entered on or before Monday, November 11. Anyone entering the event on Tuesday, November 12 or after will receive $5,000-to-win. The race will also pay $300 to start the feature. Tow money ($50.00) for non-qualifying drivers will only be paid to those who pre-entered before November 11. For the Super Sprint Cars, mufflers WILL NOT be required. All other rules of the Central PA Super (410) Sprint Cars will prevail for this event including the current Central PA Hoosier tire rule. Raceivers will be mandatory.
The 358 Sprint Car feature event will be 20-laps and pay the winner $2,000 if they are pre-entered on or before Monday, November 11. Anyone entering the event on Tuesday, November 12 or after will receiv e $1,500-to-win. The race will also now pay and increased amount of $200 to start the feature. Tow money ($50.00) for non-qualifying drivers will only be paid to those who pre-entered before November 11. The tire rule will be the same used at the regular PA 358 Sprint Car tracks. All other rules of the Central PA 358 Sprint Cars will prevail for this event. Mufflers are not required for the 358 Sprint Cars. Raceivers will be mandatory.
The 410 Super Sprint Cars will qualify in time trials with the top six automatically qualifying for the 30-lap feature. The top six will be inverted for the feature and will not attempt to qualify through the heat races. The remaining cars will qualify for the 30-lapper through heat races and last chance races.
For the 358 Sprint Cars, the starting positions for the Qualifying Heat races will be aligned through a blind draw at the pit gate on the day of the event. The feature lineup will be determined by heat race number one winner drawing for an inversion (1,3,6,9) or (1,2,4,6,8) depending on the number of heat races.
As an extra bonus, all pre-entrants will be able to draw a second time for a starting position if he or she does not like their first draw for position. However, the entrant must take the second drawn spot regardless of whether or not it is a better starting position.
Pre-entry for the event was not mandatory, but highly encouraged to receive the benefits of pre-entering. A Pre-entry with the fee ($50.00) must be postmarked by Monday, November 11, 2013. All entries postmarked on or after Tuesday, November 12, 2013 will not receive the bonus winner’s pay, tow money if not qualified and the choice for second pill draw. Entries will be taken on the day of the event. The entry fee includes a complimentary pit pass for the driver.
Gates will open for both the pit area at 11:30 a.m. and grandstand area at 12:00 p.m. with racing action beginning at 2:00 p.m.
General Admission Grandstand ticket prices for Saturday are Adults (ages 18-59) $20.00; Young Adults (ages 11-17) & Senior Adults (60 & Older) $15.00; Children (10 & under) are free. Pit pass prices are $30.00 for everyone. The minimum age requirement to purchase a pit pass is 12 years of age with a copy of a birth certificate is required for all ages 12 to 14. The Entry Fee for the Driver includes the pit pass with the entry.

- Track Rental for the “Big Track” – The “Big track” is available for rent. The “Big Track” rental fee is $1,400.00 for 4 hours and may be split between a maximum of five-(5) drivers/teams. Only one car is permitted on the track at a time. If an ambulance is requested, it is an additional $75.00 per hour.
