The Next Wednesday Night Test & Tune is on October 2
The next Wednesday Night Test & Tune for any type of racecar will be on Wednesday, October 2. The gates will open at 5:00 p.m. with practice sessions rotating for each class from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The cost is $12.00 per person for pit passes and a $20.00 fee for each racecar entering the pit area ($32.00 per car & driver combination). Each session will be 4-6 laps per session depending on car count. The grandstands are open free to the public. Each class will receive 4 to 5 rounds of 4/6 laps each or more if time permits. The fuel pumps from Miller’s Racing Parts will not be open. Anyone needing fuel should contact Miller’s Racing Parts directly at 717-766-0181. The main concession stand will be open throughout the night. The remaining Wednesday Night Test & Tunes will be October 16 & 23.
AMA Motorcycle Racing Returns to SSP on Saturday, October 5
Newberrytown, PA (September 24, 2013) – On Saturday, October 5, AMA (American Motorcycle Association) Flat Track Racing will make its return to the Susquehanna Speedway Park. The last time the flat trackers competed at SSP was May 30, 2010. The East Coast Flat Track Series and Baer Motorsports are the promoters of the event (www.eastcoastflattrackers.com or www.baermotorsports.com).
The East Coast Flat Track Series was started by Mike Scott and Daryl Baer. Baer Racing has promoted quality family events for over a decade. Mike Scott has been involved in flat track racing for over thirty years. The Series features more than 20 classes of Amateur, Pro and ATV classes.
On Saturday, the pit gates will open 12:00 p.m. Practice will begin at 2:00 p.m. with qualifying racing to begin at 3:00 p.m. Feature races are slated to begin between 7:00 and 8:00 p.m.
Grandstand gates will open at 3:00 p.m. General Admission Grandstand ticket prices for Saturday night are Adults (ages 18-59) $8.00; Young Adults (ages 11-17) & Senior Adults (60 & Older) $5.00; Children (10 & under) are free. Pit pass prices are $15.00.
There is currently no raindate for the event.

10th Annual Miller’s Racing Parts Fall Classic Slated for Friday & Saturday, October 18 & 19 at SSP
Newberrytown, PA (September 25, 2013) – The popular 2-day 10th Miller’s Racing Parts Fall Classic returns to the Susquehanna Speedway Park on Friday, October 18 and Saturday, October 19 featuring the Street Stocks, Xtreme Stock Cars and the Four Cylinder Stock Cars. The 50-lap Street Stock Championship Event will pay $2,000 to the winner.
As with last year, both the Street Stocks and Xtreme Stock Cars will utilize small common set of rules along with the driver’s hometrack rules. The Street Stocks will accept rules from 20 different speedways from Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and New Jersey. The Xtreme Stocks will accept rules from 17 speedways from Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and New Jersey.
On Friday night, October 18, the program will consist of warm-ups and qualifying heat races for Street Stocks and Xtreme Stock Cars. There will be a full program of heats and a 20-lap feature for the Classic Cars.
The Fall Classic will include a Street Stocks Cash Dash presented by Hoosier Tire Mid Atlantic consisting of the 1st and 2nd place finishers from each Street Stock heat with the finishing order determining the stating spots for the 50-lap Fall Classic Championship Race on Saturday. The top four finishers in the Cash Dash will receive $250.00; $125.00; $75.00 and $50.00 respectively.
There will also be an Xtreme Stock Car Cash Dash consisting of the 1st and 2nd place finishers from each Xtreme Stock heat with the finishing order determining the stating spots for the 40-lap Fall Classic XSC Championship Race on Saturday. The top three finishers in the Cash Dash will receive $100.00; $75.00 and $50.00 respectively.
Gates will open on Friday for both the pit area and grandstand area at 5:00 p.m. Warmups begin at 6:30 p.m. with racing action beginning at 7:30 p.m.
General Admission Grandstand ticket prices for Friday night are Adults (ages 18-59) $12.00; Young Adults (ages 11-17) & Senior Adults (60 & Older) $10.00; Children (10 & under) are free. Pit pass prices are $25.00. The minimum age requirement to purchase a pit pass is 12 years of age with a copy of a birth certificate is required for all ages 12 to 14.
Then Saturday, October 19, the show will feature a 50-lap Street Stock feature (all green flag laps with no scheduled fuel stops), 40-lap Xtreme Stock Car feature (all green flag laps with no scheduled fuel stops), 30-lap Four Cylinder Stock Cars feature (all green flag laps with no scheduled fuel stops). There will also be last chance qualifying races for the Street Stocks and Xtreme Stock Cars.
The 40-lap Xtreme Stock Car feature event on Saturday will pay $1,000.00 to the winner. All qualifying will be done through heats, C-Main and B-Main events. There will be an inversion drawn for the feature event by the winner of the first heat race. A blind draw will determine the heat race lineups.
The 30-lap Four Cylinder Stock Car feature event along with qualifying heat races and consolation events will all take place on Saturday. There will be an inversion drawn for the feature event by the winner of the first heat race. A blind draw will determine the heat race lineups.

At last year’s Fall Classic, Bill Henney of Huntingdon, PA took the checkers of the Street Stock main event at the Susquehanna Speedway Park on Saturday night. The Street Stock feature was one of four divisions featured at the 9th Annual Miller’s Racing Parts Fall Classic presented in part with Insinger Performance Fuels. York’s Patrick McClane took the lead from the start and never looked back to win the Xtreme Stock Car 40 lapper. Eric Hollenbach of Fredricksburg won the 30-lap Four Cylinder Stock Car feature. On Friday night, Jim Crocker from Reisterstown, MD won the exciting Classic Cars 20 lap feature event.

J&K Salvage Candy Bowl IX Set for Saturday, October 26
No Entry Fees for Any Classes at the Candy Bowl
Newberrytown, PA (September 25, 2013) – The 9th Annual Candy Bowl presented by J&K Salvage of York will be held on Saturday, October 26. This event will feature the wingless ARDC Wingless Midgets, 600cc Micro Sprints, Sportsman Modifieds, Legends Cars, Lincoln Speedway Thundercars and Sidewinder Sprints. There is no entry fee for any division racing at the Candy Bowl. The raindate will be Sunday, October 27 with the same time schedule.
Before the midget feature begins, the cars and drivers in all divisions will be brought to the frontstretch for the children in costumes to trick or treat. This will also be a great opportunity for everyone to visit their favorite drivers to get pictures and autographs.
The wingless ARDC Midget race is the final race of the series’ season and the 2013 ARDC Midgets champion will be crowned following the feature event.
The open comp Sportsman Modified race will follow the generally accepted Sportsman Modified rules throughout local tracks in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York. Sail panels are permitted and the minimum weight rule will be 2,450 lbs for cars with aluminum wheels and 2,375 lbs for cars with steel wheels. The 20-lap feature will pay $1,000 to the winner and $100 to start.
The open competition 600cc Micro Sprints will pay $500.00 to the winner with no entry fee ($40.00 to start). Past Candy Bowl winners that include Cody Darrah and Brent Marks have gone on to current successful 410 Super Sprint Car careers. Others who have added a Candy Bowl victory to their resumes include Ben Murphy, Jimmy Brookens, Heath Henley, Shane Lewis. Last year, Tyler Walton became the first driver to capture the 600cc Micro Sprint portion of the Candy Bowl twice.
Gates will open for the pit area at 11:30 a.m. and grandstand area at 12:00 p.m. Track Prep Laps begin at 1:15 p.m. with racing action beginning at 2:00 p.m.

10th Annual SSP Turkey 200 Enduro Presented by AS2 Home Servives on Saturday, November 2
Newberrytown, PA (September 25, 2013) – On Saturday afternoon, November 2, the Susquehanna Speedway Park will host the 10th Annual Turkey 200. Also the Classic Cars and Pro Sign & Mini Vans will take to the track before the Enduro events. The event will be presented by AS2 Home Services of Dover.
As with last this year, the Big Cars (8-cylinder) Enduro Event will utilize small common set of rules along with the driver’s hometrack rules. Any car similar to the SSP Xtreme Stocks rules will be accepted from 17 speedways from Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia and one sanctioning body.
The Big Car rules enforced will be in accordance with the rules below along with your own local 2013 track rules (as designated on the entry form). The rules below supercede your declared track rules.
1. Chassis – Must have a minimum of a 4-point roll cage and all cars must have a properly mounted fuel cell.
2. Engine – 365 cubic inch limit with factory stock stroke. No Vacuum Rule in effect (hydraulic cams still required).
3. Carb & Fuel - All cars may use a stock Holley 2bbl 500 cfm carburetor #4412 or the carb according to your local track rules. The choke plate may be removed but no other modifications are permitted. Gasoline (racing fuel) only. No alcohol, nitro, oxygenators, or any other additives permitted.
4. Tires & Wheels – Steel wheels permitted up to 8” wide. Beadlocks permitted. Only D.O.T. street legal tires are permitted (up to 60 series) on all cars. No racing tires.
5. Brakes – No cockpit adjustable brake systems permitted.
All entrants must declare the local track rules (2013 only) to which they will compete under (no mixing of track rules). Entrants must be able to produce a copy of their current 2012 track rules. Current rules accepted:

Similar to the Big Car Enduro, the Small Car (4/6-Cylinder) Enduro will also use a small set of similar rules along with the driver’s hometrack rules. Any car similar to the SSP Road Warrior rules will be accepted from 16 speedways from Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia and one sanctioning body.
The Small Car rules enforced will be in accordance with the rules below along with your own local 2013 track rules (as designated on the entry form). The rules below supercede your declared track rules.
1. Chassis – Every Vehicle must be equipped with a roll cage that will provide the driver with sufficient protection from impact with the wall, from other vehicles and in roll over situations subject to the approval of the technical inspectors. All cars must have a properly mounted fuel cell.
2. Engine – Four or Six Cylinders.
3. Fuel - Gasoline (racing fuel) only. No alcohol, nitro, oxygenators, or any other additives permitted.
4. Tires & Wheels – Steel wheels permitted up to 8” wide. Beadlocks permitted. Only D.O.T. street legal tires are permitted (up to 60 series) on all cars. No racing tires.
5. Brakes – No cockpit adjustable brake systems permitted.
All entrants must declare the local track rules (2013 only) to which they will compete under (no mixing of track rules). Entrants must be able to produce a copy of their current 2013 track rules. Current rules accepted:

In both Enduro races, each competitor must supply their own scorer. There will be a separate meeting for scorers during the Mini Van feature.
The Big Car (8 Cylinder/XSC) Enduro event will be 100 laps regardless of the number of entries. The purse payout will be based on entry numbers: 75 or more entries: 1. $1,500.00; 2. $600.00; 3. $500.00; 4. $300.00; 5. $250.00 / 61 – 74 entries: 1. $1,250.00; 2. $550.00; 3. $400.00; 4. $250.00; 5. $200.00 / 51 – 60 entries: 1. $1,000.00; 2. $500.00; 3. $325.00; 4. $200.00; 5. $150.00 / 41 – 50 entries: 1. $1,000.00; 2. $400.00; 3. $250.00; 4. $150.00; 5. $125.00 / 31 - 40 entries: 1. $1,000.00; 2. $300.00; 3. $175.00; 4. $125.00; 5. $100.00 / 30 or less entries: 1. $750.00; 2. $250.00; 3. $125.00; 4. $100.00; 5. $75.00.

Pre-entry for the event is encouraged but not mandatory. A Pre-entry with the fee must be postmarked by Monday, October 28, 2013. All entries postmarked on or after Tuesday, October 29, 2013 will be higher fee. Entries will be taken on the day of the event. The starting positions for the Turkey 200 Enduros will be aligned through a blind draw at the pit gate on the day of the event. As an extra bonus, all pre-entrants will be able to draw a second time for a starting position if he or she does not like their first draw for position. However, the entrant must take the second drawn spot regardless of whether or not it is a better starting position. Gates will open for both the pit area and grandstand area at 11:00 a.m. with racing action beginning at 1:00 p.m.
General Admission Grandstand ticket prices for Saturday are Adults (ages 18-59) $12.00; Young Adults (ages 11-17) & Senior Adults (60 & Older) $10.00; Children (10 & under) are free. Pit pass prices are $25.00 for everyone. The minimum age requirement to purchase a pit pass is 12 years of age with a copy of a birth certificate is required for all ages 12 to 14. The Entry Fee for the Driver includes the pit pass with the entry.
Point championships for the Classic Cars and Mini Vans will conclude with the Turkey 200 event. The raindate for the event will be Sunday, November 3 with the same time schedule.

- Track Rental for the “Big Track” – The “Big track” is available for rent. The “Big Track” rental fee is $1,400.00 for 4 hours and may be split between a maximum of five-(5) drivers/teams. Only one car is permitted on the track at a time. If an ambulance is requested, it is an additional $75.00 per hour. For nighttime rentals at the “Big Track”, an additional $100.00 per hour will be charged for lights. To reserve either track, please call 717-292-1696.
