HIGH STAKES ARE ON THE TABLE AT BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY’S OCTOBER 5TH SHOW

Bridgeport, NJ (October 1, 2013) – On Saturday, October 5, the High 
Stakes at the Port rolls into Bridgeport Speedway. This big race 
program will feature the fourth hand of the Poker Series for the Big 
Block Modifieds and Crate/Sportsman along with the third round of the
Outlaw Stock Car Shoot-Out Series.

In their Poker Series event, the Big Block Modifieds will partake in a
35-lap main event with an Ace and $3000 going to the victor. The take 
the green money will be $250. After three hands of the five race 
series, Neal Williams has the best hand. With two eleventh place 
finishes and one sixth place finish, Williams has a pair of Fours and 
one Nine.  Rusty Smith, who has two thirteenth finishes, has the next 
best hand with a pair of Deuces.  A star studded field is expected for 
this event and should include Jimmy Blewett, the winner of the Friends 
of Mike race that served as the third hand of the Poker Series. In 
addition to this Poker Series contest, the mighty modifieds will 
complete the twenty-one circuits that remain from the rain postponed 
30-lap feature from May 11.

The winner of the 20-lap Crate/Sportsman Poker Series will walk away 
with $750 and $100 will be the take the green money. By virtue of his 
two third place finishes, Mike Lyons and his pair of Queens leads the 
standings with Mike Cogdill having the next best hand with a pair of 
Nines.

Due to a rainout on Saturday, September 22, the Outlaw Stock Car 
Shoot-Out Series, sponsored by Black Flagged Racing, resumes with 
their third contest. A hefty purse is on the line as $600 will be 
going to the victor and each starter of the feature will get a minimum 
of $50. After two races, Bill Lietdka has accumulated 127 points which 
is six more than Brian Ludwig. Ron Frees, the 2013 Outlaw Stock Car 
track champion, sits in third place with 113 markers.

For each series event, qualifying races will precede the running of 
features events and starting lineups for the heats will be determined 
by pill draw. The night of action will close out with a demolition 
derby.

On Saturday, October 5, the pit gates open at 4:00 p.m. and the 
grandstand turnstiles unlock at 5:00 p.m. The first green flag waves 
at 6:30 p.m. Fans (16 and older) will be admitted for $20 with student 
(10-15) tickets priced at $10. Children 9 and under are free. Pit 
admission is $35.

Bridgeport Speedway provides a safe and secure family atmosphere, free 
parking, giveaways, and fan participation games. As a premier racing 
complex, Bridgeport Speedway is a banked 5/8th mile dirt oval, 
featuring a dirt 1/4 mile oval embedded in the center, and is located 
in Southern New Jersey -- just minutes from Pennsylvania and Delaware 
at exit 14 off of I-295.
