RISLONE URC SPRINT SERIES
URC TO MAKE FIRST APPEARANCE OF 2013 AT DELAWARE INTERNATIONAL SATURDAY NIGHT, JULY 20, URC MEET AND GREET TO TAKE PLACE FROM 3 TO 5 PM. . . .COME OUT EARLY!
The Rislone URC Sprints will make their first of two appearance at the Delaware International Speedway on Saturday night, July 20 and race fans are invited to come early and take part in the URC Meet and Greet to take place from 3 to 5 PM. The Fan Fest sponsored by Taylor & Messick, will offer free giveaways as well as free hot dogs. Team Delaware drivers taking part in the Meet and Greet include “The Sheriff” Kevin Darling of Dover, DE, hot off a victory at the New Egypt Speedway, Andy Best of Felton, DE, Troy Betts of Newark, DE and Steve Downs of Georgetown, DE. Come out early and meet the Delaware locals just before they duke it out in chase of the $2,000 to win 25 lap Rislone URC sprint feature event.
The Delaware International Speedway is URC’s most visited track in the sixty-five year history of this traveling sprint car organization. Race time is set for 7 PM, but plan to come early and see Team Delaware in the Fan Fest Meet and Greet from 3 to 5 PM.
When the racing action begins, look for current point leader Davie Franek to be in the hunt for his first win of the season. Defending Rislone URC Sprint Series Champion Robbie Stillwaggon will be looking for his fourth win of the 2013 season. Stillwaggon is runner-up in the current point chase. In URC’s last visit to Delaware International on September 1, 2012, Stillwaggon was the feature winner. Third in points is Brian Carber of Pipersville, PA. This is Carber’s first year with URC and he is a graduate of the 305 sprints. Carber has quickly become URC’s most noticed driver on the tour. Mr. Excitement, JJ Grasso ranks third in the URC point battle and has one victory this year, winning the prestigious Jack Gunn Memorial at the Selinsgrove Speedway. Rounding out the top five in points is URC’s weekly “hard charger”, Josh Weller of Mertztown, PA.
The Rislone URC sprint portion of the Saturday night show will include eight lap heat race events, a “B” Main and a 25 lap feature event.
The Delaware International Speedway is located on Route 13 South in Delmar, DE. Gates will open at 4:30 PM with racing getting underway at 7 PM.
