RAIN FORECAST FORCES CANCELLATION OF RACING AT BIG DIAMOND SPEEDWAY

MINERSVILLE, PA - APRIL 19th, 2013

A near 100% chance of major thunderstorms this evening, with rainfall amounts of well over 1" predicted, has forced the cancellation of the racing events scheduled for this evening at Big Diamond Speedway.

Racing resumes at Big Diamond Speedway next Friday, April 26 with the season opener for the URC Sprint cars. This will be the only appearance for the URC sprinters at Big Diamond in 2013, brought to you by Alpine Building Supply of Schuylkill Haven, PA. They will be joined that evening by the 358 Modifieds and Roadrunners. Warm-ups will begin at 7:45 PM with the first heat hitting the track at 8:15 PM.

This coming Thursday, April 25th, we will try once again to get the season started on Little Diamond Speedway. Gates open at 6:00 PM and racing begins at 7:00 PM. The 125cc Micro Sprints, 270cc Micro Sprints, and Slingshots will be the three divisions on the racing card. The Slingshots will be competing in an MA Silver Regional tour race.

Pit participation fee for Little Diamond will be $20 per person, with no age limits on who can enter the pit area. Pit membership is free, with no license required. Car registration is $20 per car/per division. Grandstand admission will be $8.00 per person for everyone ages 13 and up. Children 12 years of age and under are admitted free if accompanied by a paying adult.

Also next weekend on Saturday, April 27th, we will present another test and tune session on Big Diamond Speedway from noon to 2 PM. This will be followed by our second Enduro of the season. The Enduro cars are schedule to hit the track at 3:00 PM.
