FANFEST ALWAYS A HIGHLIGHT AT. . . .THE TRAFFIC JAM WEDNESDAY NIGHT, AUGUST 3RD AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY
The 14th Annual TRAFFIC JAM for modifieds joined by the sportsman will make-up another showcase event presented by the NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing Series only at the Grandview Speedway. This event, sponsored by Chad Sinon/BPG Motorsports will be the highlight modified race of 2011 Thunder Series. The winner of the 60 lap TRAFFIC JAM will pocket a hefty $8,500 first place prize. Along with the Race of Champions Modifieds, the ROC Sportsman will be on the program as well with the show getting underway at 7:30 PM. Always a special treat for the spectators, is FANFEST, an opportunity for the race fans to come onto the homestretch as the TRAFFIC JAM starting field is stage to take the green flag. In previous years, hundreds of race fans walked the homestretch, taking pictures and gathering autographs of the TRAFFIC JAM starting field. When the fans return to their seats, the call for "Gentlemen start your engines" will be made and with a load roar, the twenty-four car starting field will pull off the grid, just moments away from the drop of the green flag.
The ROC sportsman will run a 40 lap feature paying $1,000 to the winner with a shot at some bonus money thanks to Joe Adams Lettering. The top five sportsman in the feature that were pre-entered will earn an additional $50. Drivers may pre-enter by calling 443 513 4456.
The inaugural TRAFFIC JAM took place in 1998 and Brett Hearn earned the center podium position in victory lane. The following year, Jimmy Horton was the winner with Frank Cozze taking the win in 2000 as Timmy McCreadie earned his first TRAFFIC JAM win in 2001. Brett Hearn was the first repeat winner in 2002 with DIRTcar standout Billy Decker winning the TRAFFIC JAM in 2003. Timmy McCreadie returned to the always joyous Grandview victory lane in 2004 with Tim Fuller winning the event in 2005, Alan Johnson in 2006, Brett Hearn in 2007 and Billy Decker again in 2008. Brett Hearn scored his fourth TRAFFIC JAM win in 2009 with VonDohren the winner in 2010.
The $8,500 winner's share in the 60 lap TRAFFIC JAM will certainly bring out the best of the Grandview regulars to include Duane Howard, Craig VonDohren, Ryan Godown hot off that impressive ROC win at the Battle of Lincoln, Doug Manmiller, Rick Laubach, Billy Pauch and Kevin Hirthler. Expected invaders include Brett Hearn, Billy Decker, Danny Johnson and Stewart Friesen just to name a few. Friesen scored his first Grandview win in the 2010 Race of Champions event.

This will be the richest TRAFFIC JAM payout in the fourteen year history of the event, a continued celebration of the NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing Series reaching their 100th event milestone in June of 2011. Special thanks to Chad Sinon/BPG Motorsports for their continued support of Thunder on the Hill.
