BECHTELSVILLE, PA August 13, 2014. . . The always exciting NASCAR 358 Modifieds will be in action along with the BRC Late Models and Sportsman stock cars at Grandview Speedway on Saturday, August 16th at 7:30 p.m. Spectator gates open at 5:30 p.m.
The battle for the NASCAR 358 Modified championship continues as Duane Howard, a five time track champion, chases Jeff Strunk who is shooting for his 10th track title. Howard has managed to close the gap, a little, in recent weeks and now has four point events remaining to chase down Strunk. Craig VonDohren, defending champion, is in third.
Randy Stoudt leads the BRC Late Model standings and 11 feature winner Jared Umbenhauer sits on top of the Sportsman standings as he goes after his 3rd straight title. Umbenhauer also leads the NASCAR National Division II standings which encompasses racers from across the nation.
Adult admission is $15 while youngsters 12 and under are admitted free.
The popular Low Down and Dirty Meet & Greet, where fans meet racers and get close to the race cars, takes place at the main gate at 5:30 p.m.
Tickets will go on sale Saturday for the rich Freedom 76 Modified Classic set for September 13th at the track. Adult admission will be $35, youngsters 6 thru 12 pay $10 and children under 6 are admitted free.
The Late Model stock cars will have another night in the spotlight on Saturday, August 23rd when Bernheisel Race Components Superior Products Night is presented with a 30-lap feature topping the action for the BRC Late Models.
More than $5000 in various products will be awarded to Late Model racers including products from Wehrs Machine, Wildwood Brakes, Performance Bodies, Afco, Allstar, Mikes Custom Tanks, Joes Racing Products, Turbostart, Outpace, Mapco Machine, Jones Racing Products, Bull Dog Rear Ends, Quickcar Gauges, Eibach Springs, RJS Safety Equipment, Fast Shafters and Schoenfeld Headers.
Each Late Model racer taking part in the night’s racing events will have an opportunity to take home an envelope with product awards certificates inside. The value of the awards average out to $220 each with the highest being $320. Each Late Model must have a clearly visible BRC decal on both sides to qualify for the awards.
All the awards will be redeemable at Bernheisel Race Cars, Inc.
The NASCAR 358 Modifieds and Sportsman stock cars will also be part of the big night of stock car racing action.
Fans, racers and business owners are reminded that lap sponsorships at $20 each and qualifying event sponsorships are now available for the classic Freedom 76 Modified race set for Saturday, September 13th.
