BIG DIAMOND SPEEDWAY PRESENTS 2ND ANNUAL "PRELUDE TO THE COAL CRACKER" THIS COMING FRIDAY AUGUST 15TH

MINERSVILLE, PA - August 13th, 2014

This coming Friday, August 15th, racing returns to Big Diamond Speedway with the running of the 2nd Annual Prelude To The Coal Cracker Event for the Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic DIRTcar 358 Modifieds. This race is 30 laps for $4,000 to win and $400 to take the green. Twenty six cars will start the feature event.  All drivers will draw for heat starting spots and there will be a redraw for the feature event. Number of cars in the redraw will be determined by the number of heats we need to run. If we run three heats, the top four in each heat will redraw. If we run four heats, the top three in each heat will redraw. If we run five heats, the top two in each heat will redraw.

American Racer and Hoosier tires will be permitted for this event. THIS IS NOT A POINTS EVENT! Sail panels ARE NOT allowed.

Last year Tim Buckwalter scored the "upset" victory for his first ever win in the 358 Modified ranks over a strong 44 car field.  This year another strong field is expected, led by current point leader Rick Laubach, four time winner Billy Pauch Jr., all time Big Diamond victory leader Duane Howard, and a host of others.

For all Modified teams, entry forms will be available for the annual Jack Rich Memorial Coal Cracker 72 race to be held Sunday, August 31st.  Early entry fees will be $40.00 per car, with the fee going up to $60.00 per car the day of the race.

The Slifko Fabrication Services Late Models will be racing in their final points event of the season, and the Savage 61 Roadrunners are also on the card.  Scott Haus just needs to start the feature event Friday to be crowned the 2014 Big Diamond Speedway Late Model Point Champion.  A host of other competitors are expected to be on hand in order to tune-up for their Coal Cracker event to be held Friday, August 29th.  The Late Model Coal Cracker 40 on the 29th will pay $1,600 to win and $150 to take green (if over 26 cars).

In the Roadrunners division, with only three point events reamining it is down to a three man battle between Jeremy Becker, Chris Holland, and Jim Kost to see who can come home the 2014 Savage 61 Roadrunner Point Champion.

Grandstand general admisssion is $20.00, with active military (with ID) and kids 12 and under admitted free of charge.  Pit participatino fees are $30.00 for members and $40.00 for non-members.

Gates open at 5 PM, warm-ups are at 7:45 PM, and first heat hits the track at 8:15 PM sharp for what is sure to be a great night of racing.
