Bechtelsville, PA – Racing at Grandview Speedway in the NASCAR Whelen All American BRC Late Model Class is a challenge each week because of the talent that is there. Dan Green is fast becoming one of the drivers to watch every time the late models come out on the track. In only his second year in the class Dan is currently 6th in points having 10 top 10's including three straight second place finishes during the season. Ready for the July 26th race night the G & H Motorsports team loaded up the #46 Lazer Chassis and headed to the track.
After the warm-ups were completed Dan took to the track in the second Heat Race starting 5th. Grandview Speedway is a dirt track and the conditions of the racing surface can change from week to week or race to race, the team tried a set up that we haven't tried yet this year. As the race went green Dan found out that the track was a one lane track and he stayed to the inside and after 3 laps he was able to get by the #80 of Bill Henning to take 4th. Dan stayed in 4th for the remainder of the 8 lap event.
Bob Higginbotham, Todd Lapp, Jesse Bivins, Scott Green, Cathy Green, Debbie Dutter and Brett Higginbotham went to work on the car as Dan checked out how much the track was changing.
Dan lined up 5th in the 25 lap NASCAR BRC Late Model feature event and took the green and found out that the track conditions were only slightly better than the heat race and the setup changes that the team made were not the correct ones for the car. Dan was as high as 4th but at the end Dan brought home a 6th place finish as he was right behind last weeks feature winner Randy Stoudt #10 and in front of Wayne Pfiel #72. The G & H Motorsports team would like to congratulate #16 Cory Merkel on his first career win.
Dan has been getting some press lately as he was on an internet radio show last week and he is schedule to be the featured guest on the TV show “Strapped In” on BCTV out of Reading, PA. Check your local cable company to see if you can watch the show or watch it online at www.bctv.org you can email starterone@aol.com to submit a question for Dan or you can call during the show 610-378-0426. The show will air on Monday July 28th from 8 PM to 9 PM. If you miss the show it will be online later in the week. The team has also been asked to be part of Grandview Speedway's Low Down and Dirty Meet and Greet next Saturday night so plan on coming out early and see the car up close and meet Dan and the Team!
