ANNUAL FORREST ROGERS MEMORIAL OFFERS $10,000 TO WINNER ON
SATURDAY
BECHTELSVILLE, PA
August 1, 2013 . . . Over the years some of the very best talents in dirt track
stock car racing have won the rich Forrest Rogers Memorial presented by Pioneer
Pole Buildings. The classic for NASCAR 358 Modified racers is a 50-lap race set
for Saturday, August 10th at Grandview Speedway that pits the best
against the best with the winner taking home
$10,000.
Craig VonDohren, enjoying a stellar
season, has won the race five times, something no one else has been able to do.
Nine time track champion Jeff Strunk has won it four times and Ray Swinehart is
a three time winner. Young Kevin
Hirthler is a two time winner including last year and Meme DeSantis has been to
victory lane twice. Defending track champion Duane Howard is a past winner as is
Jon Kellner Sr. and Terry Meitzler. They will all be in action on Saturday,
August 10th looking to add another win to their resume in the
prestigious event.
Of course there are a number of
standout talents that have not won the race that would like to add their name to
the impressive list of winners and that includes DIRT Hall of Famer Frank Cozze,
Doug Manmiller, Mike Gular, Kyle Weiss, Tim Buckwalter, Don Norris, Tommy
Scheetz III and others.
A stellar field of racers will be on
hand for the 43rd edition of the Forrest Rogers Memorial run in
memory of the man who had the idea and turned his dream of a speedway into a
reality.
In addition to qualifying events and
the 50-lap Forrest Rogers Memorial presented by Pioneer Pole Buildings there
will be racing action featuring the Sportsman and Late Model stock
cars.
Admission for the August
10th night of racing, which has an August 17th rain date,
is $25 for adults, $5 for youngsters 6 through 12 and it is free for children
under 6. Active military members with a current ID card will be admitted
FREE.
The very next day, Sunday, August
11th, the Outlaw Enduro racers and Blast from the Past Vintage stock
cars will be racing at 1 p.m.
