BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY GEARS UP FOR NIGHT OF
WINGS 2013
Bridgeport, NJ (June 4, 2013) – As Wednesday, June 12 is
quickly
approaching, Bridgeport Speedway is geared up to host the Night of
Wings 2013 show. Advance tickets for adults (16 and older) will be
available on Friday, June 7 and Saturday, June 8 at the main
grandstand
ticket office. For additional information concerning ticket
purchases prior
to the event, fans can contact the Bridgeport Speedway
office at
856-467-4407.
The Night of Wings 2013 show will feature a two-division
program with
the 410 Sprint Cars and the TSRS Sprint Cars. For the second
year in a
row, Mike Heffner, the owner of the Lelands.com 410 Sprint Car
driven
this season by Lance Dewease, will co-promote the program with the
Bridgeport Speedway management team. A hefty purse has been set for
this race as the winner of the 25-lap feature for the 410 Sprint Cars
will go home with $7,000. The take the green money has been set at
$500. For non- qualifiers, $100 in tow money will be awarded. In
addition, a $500 bonus for the top finishing 360 Sprint Car has been
established for the program. Sponsors for the Night of Wings 2013
program include Rider Racing Engines, Wings Unlimited, Viper Venom
Fuel, Jake’s Carts, Fast Tees and Lelands.com.
Along with Dewease, a
large and talented field of 410 Sprint Car
drivers is expected to attend
this race. Dave Blaney, who drives for
Tommy Baldwin Racing in the NASCAR
Sprint Cup Series, will be on hand
and will partake in a pre-race meet and
greet session. Dale Blaney,
Dave’s brother, has confirmed his attendance
with the promotional
team. With the All-Star Sprint Car Series in the area,
several drivers
that follow the circuit are interested in attending. Brent
Marks, a
hot sprint car driver with four feature wins to his credit in
2013,
has made plans to be at the Night of Wings 2013 show. Danny
Holtgraver, one of the brightest young stars in sprint car racing, has
confirmed that he will be at Bridgeport Speedway driving the Rob
Hunter
and Bryan Grove owned number 45 car. Danny Dietrich, who also
has four wins
this season including one against the World of Outlaws,
has added this
event to his schedule. Greg Hodnett, a veteran driver
with one victory in
2013, will be on hand as well.
A unique qualifying format introduced at
last year’s Night of Wings
show will be employed for the 410 Sprint Cars.
During registration,
each 410 Sprint Car driver will draw a pill to
determine his or her
heat race group. Each grouping will go out for time
trials and an
inversion of the top four (4) will set the starting lineup of
each
respective heat race. Drivers not in the top four (4) of their groups
will be lined up in the qualifying events by time. The first two (2)
finishers in each heat race are eligible for the feature redraw and
the
fastest qualifier in each grouping will be added as well providing
the
driver finishes the heat race in a qualifying position. All other
heat race
qualifiers will be assigned a starting position in the main
event by
time.
On Wednesday, June 12, the gates to the pit area open at 4:00 p.m.
with the grandstand turnstiles unlocking at 5:00 p.m. Hot laps will
get underway at 7:00 p.m. with action getting underway at 7:30 p.m.
Night of Wings 2013 tickets for fans 16 and older will be $25 in
advance or $30 on the day of the show. Admission for students (10-15)
will be $15 and children 9 and under are free. Skyboxes are available
for this event and can be reserved by contacting the speedway office
at
856-467-4407. A rain date of Thursday, June 13 has been scheduled
for this
race.
