RACE CAR SHOW AT
PHILLIPSBURG MALL CONTINES THROUGH SATURDAY, MARCH 16
THE STARS OF
TOMORROW SHINE BRIGHTLY TUESDAY NIGHT AT SIXTH ANNUAL IRCO DIRT TRACK HEROES CAR
SHOW
The Sixth
Annual IRCO sponsored Dirt Track Heroes Show in Phillipsburg, New Jersey rolled
into the third day of the week long show last evening and the night belonged to
the "Stars of Tomorrow" as quarter midget driving stars were showcased and they
enjoyed the opportunity to chat about their budding racing careers. After an
opening introduction to begin the show with IRCO Vice President Greg Collins,
the future stars in racing were given their chance on the mikes with many of
them giving their first ever interviews. The budding young stars handled the
mikes with ease and some very humorous answers and dialogue continued throughout
the show with Announcers Ed and Steve Pados and Bobby Stull coaxing as much
information out of the driving stars as possible. The week long show is well
represented by the small car divisions of racing and another great crowd
of loyal racing fans came out last evening to enjoy seeing the youngsters
handling the mikes. The Mall walkways are filled with 121 race cars from all aspects of the
motorsports world filled the Mall spaces and the event staff for the show are
brimming with confidence as one of the largest opening day crowds ever opened
the show Sunday and the Monday and Tuesday shows had nice crowds was on hand to
take in the show and see their favorite drivers. Supporting the show last night
were drivers from Blue Mountain, Phoenixville, Lehigh Valley, West End, Garden
State and Snydersville Raceways on an evening that was co sponsored by Persa
Auto Repair and Murante Auto Repair.
The Quarter
Midgets are a great way to begin the careers of the budding young drivers and
many graduates of Quarter Midget racing have gone on to great racing careers in
the sport and many of the drivers interviewed felt they would race the Quarter
Midgets until their age requirements expire and then make the transition into
one of the many offerings available in racing. Drivers on hand and many giving
their first interview ever included Billy Lasko, who captured thirty wins last
season and Kevin Holt Jr, who scored 26 wins in 2012. Aidan Svanda, Charlene
Benz, James Benz, Hanna Flood, Peyton Arthofer, Avery Arthofer, Mathew Civic,
Evan Civic, Amanda Buchel, Adam Buchel, Cody Motto, Randy Stover, Panda Sabo,
Robbie Sabo and John Ferry also interviewed and most indicated they had multiple
wins during the season. Rich Pursell from Blue Mountain and Brandy Civic from
Lehigh Valley were on hand to answer some questions about their respective
clubs. Quarter Midget racing can truly be proud of the representation last
evening at the show.
