ARCA DRIVING STAR SEAN CORR SLATED FOR THURSDAY NIGHT APPEARANCE AT 6TH ANNUAL IRCO DIRT TRACK HEROES CAR SHOW
Coming to fruition over the past few days, ARCA Racing Series driving star Sean Corr has agreed to appear at the IRCO sponsored Dirt Track Heroes Show on Thursday evening at the Phillipsburg Mall in Phillipsburg, NJ. Activities begin at 6:30 PM at the event stage in the Mall.
Sean Corr is coming off an excellent run at Daytona in mid-February when he raced from an 18th starting position to finish in the top five and successfully kick-off his season. The run at Daytona has the team pumped up with confidence as they plan the rest of their 2013 racing schedule. Corr's Empire Racing sponsored race car team headed up by Crew Chief Ben Leslie and Team Manager John Bellesfield and owned by Sean's father John Corr, feel they have a race car capable of running up front all season long and winning in the popular racing series. The Empire Racing Team has also added a race truck they will be competing with in 2013.
Corr enjoyed a great season in 2011 as he vaulted into the top ten with a ninth place finish in the final ARCA points and enjoyed great runs all season long in his Empire Racing Ford race car as he completed all nineteen races on the ARCA Schedule, but in 2012 ran a limited schedule of only five races. Corr, a resident of Goshen, New York, has many local ties to the area and is a past champion at the Orange County Fair Speedway in Middletown, New York, has won events at the Moody Mile in Syracuse, New York and it was his vast experience of racing on the dirt surfaces that enabled him to earn some great finishes at both Springfield and DuQuoin on the mile long dirt tracks on the ARCA racing schedule in 2011. Sean will be on hand to meet and greet his racing fans and sign autographs before departing on his next racing adventure.
The longtime broadcasting team of Ed and Steve Pados from Gasoline Alley fame, veteran announcer Bobby Stull, Bridgeport and Thunder announcer Jeff Ahlum and former Lake Mocatek co-announcer Justin Beltrame will head up the announcing team for the week long show. IRCO Vice President Greg Collins, who also serves as the noted historian of the Harmony Speedway, is expected to have much of his memorabilia from the Harmony Speedway for the event and Beltrame will once again spearhead and show the vast collection of Lake Mocatek material he has collected over the years.
The IRCO Dirt Track Heroes Car Show will again offer a great keepsake event souvenir program book and shirt. The Phillipsburg Mall is open Sunday 11 AM to 6 PM and from Monday through Saturday from 10 AM to 9 PM.
