SIXTH ANNUAL IRCO DIRT TRACK HEROES CAR SHOW CONTINUES AT PHILLIPSBURG MALL TONIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY

The IRCO sponsored Sixth Annual Dirt Track Heroes Show continued to successfully roll through its week long engagement at the Phillipsburg Mall with a night dedicated to the New Egypt and Hamlin Speedways. After a jam packed Mall crowd on Sunday opened the show, each additional day of the event has brought out good sized crowds and last evening was no exception as drivers gathered to sign autographs and interview with the show hosts.
The Mall features 121 race cars from all aspects of the motorsports world and the Hamlin Speedway/S&S Speedways Indoor Go Karts and Vogel Race Designs sponsored evening gave a great indication of the growth and the popularity of the small car divisions of the sport. The popular IRCO Dirt Track Heroes Show will be at the Phillipsburg Mall through Saturday March 16th and on tap tonight is a salute to the Slingshot and Stage One Modifieds competing at the Hamlin Speedway as well as Accord Speedway and Orange County Fair Speedway.
In addition, ARCA Series driving star Sean Corr is expected in to sign autographs and take part in the interviews tonight at the event stage.
Ed and Steve Pados and Bobby Stull proceeded into the driver interviews and it gave a great indication of how this new wave of driving stars have created the magic that is the Hamlin Speedway. Drivers interviewing included Larry Hoagland, Kyle Rohner, Amber Oraschin, Rookie 270 Sprint Champion Glenn Macomber, Tommy Kunsman, Jordan Tittle, Eddie Strada, Chris Oraschin, 600 Sprint Champion Kyle Lick, Shelby Harper, Thomas Strupp and Robbie Watson. Also on hand were Bobby Butler, National Slingshot Champion Shannon smith and Kurt Bettler but Bettler was busy in the Mall assembling a MMF Chassis 600 Sprint that when finished will be driven by Doug Snyder. Youngster Alex McCollum was on hand to talk about his first season behind the wheel of a Bandolero division race car and his time spent traveling to the Bethel Motorsports Park in New York State and the Shenandoah Speedway in Virginia to do his racing.
Veteran driving legend Ray Liss was on hand to talk about his many years involved with racing East Windsor and Flemington and of restoration project, the uncaged Sprint Car he has located in the Flemington Store for this event. Allyse Wolfinger was on hand to represent the New Egypt Speedway and provided much information about some of the updates being done to the speedway for the 2013 season and the aggressive racing schedule that will feature World of Outlaw Sprint Cars, URC Sprints, ARDC Midgets TSRS Sprints along with the mighty Modifieds, Sportsman and support divisions. Versatile driving talent Billy Pauch Jr took to the stage to talk about his interesting and diverse schedule this season which will see him competing in many different divisions of racing around the local scene. Hamlin Speedway Promoter Randy Smith was on hand to talk about the Hamlin Speedway and the many changes that will take place at the popular 1/5 mile oval this coming season. Randy then made the announcement they have secured Wallace Tractor, Equipment and Trailers as the speedway sponsor for the 2013 racing season. More information will follow regarding that important part of the Hamlin Speedway shortly. Billy Pauch Jr was then brought back to the stage area to engage in a fun filled exchange with Smith and it was a great way to end the evening of fun.
The Phillipsburg Mall, located on Route 22 East in Phillipsburg, NJ, has proven to be a popular setting for this special event and will offer a multitude of race cars, racing memorabilia, collectibles and photos on display throughout the course of the show. The show continues to be free of charge to the mall traffic and the 2013 edition of the show is the trend setter of the many shows that are scheduled during the year.
The great fan base of racing can come out to this grand Mall event and be transported back to a time when they could hop into their family jitney and travel less than a half hour to witness the excitement of a night at the races. All historical racing groups including Reading, Flemington, Harmony, Dorney Park, Tri State, Friends of Nazareth and Bob Snyder Photos and Snyder Video will have their memorabilia on display and their many scrapbooks open for the fans to take another long look at the glory years of racing and possibly find a picture or two they want to purchase as a keepsake from past glory or racing exploits.
On display at the Mall include big and small block Modifieds, Sportsman, Micro-Sprints, ARDC Midgets, URC Sprints, TSRS Sprints, Late Models, go-karts, quarter midgets and a broad variety of vintage and restored race cars. New Egypt, Grandview, Big Diamond, Bridgeport, Hamlin, Accord, Action Track USA, Borger's and Snydersville will again be among the many speedways involved with the 2013 show. The week-long event will set aside one evening to salute the "Stars of Tomorrow" with a special night set aside for the budding young racing talents competing with the many quarter midget clubs in the area and this night has proven to be one of the highlights of the week as many will be giving their first ever interviews to a sizable crowd.
The IRCO Dirt Track Heroes Car Show has a must have event T-shirt done exclusively for the show, highlighting many of our racing heroes who have passed away in the past year. The great keepsake event souvenir program book has many great articles regarding our racing heroes. The Phillipsburg Mall is open Sunday 11 AM to 6 PM and from Monday through Saturday from 10 AM to 9 PM.
