Building A Better Short Track SuperNationals: Pioneer Pole Buildings Brings Modified Green Money To $300 For 2011 Edition Of "Working Man's Race" At Five Mile Point
KIRKWOOD, NY - Pioneer Pole Buildings Inc. is building a better Short Track SuperNationals.

Thanks to a marketing agreement with Schuylkill Haven, Pa.-based PPB and company president Bob Greene, the 50-lap big-block/small-block Modified event at the 2011 'Working Man's Race' will pay $300 to take the green flag! This is an increase of $100 from the race's first three runnings. The fourth Short Track SuperNationals, organized by event founder Brett Deyo, is set for the historic Five Mile Point Speedway in Kirkwood, N.Y., Oct. 7-8.

"Bob Greene has been a supporter of this event since it was resurrected at Five Mile Point in 2009," said Deyo, who first organized the SuperNationals in 2006 at Afton (N.Y.) Speedway. "Keeping with our theme of the 'Working Man's Race' we wanted to give back to as many of our teams as possible, not just the winner, so we decided to put some sponsorship money toward the back of our starting field.

"There are plenty more bonuses and special promotions to come as we count down to the fourth SuperNationals in October! As always with our events, ALL sponsorship money received goes right back to the racers putting on the show."

PPB is a leading supplier of top-quality post frame buildings at a competitive price with unsurpassed service. To learn more about Pioneer Pole Buildings, visit www.pioneerpolebuildings.com.

The SuperNationals is an affordable, racer- and fan-friendly event that caters to the weekly racers across the Northeast, not the high-dollar touring series teams. A healthy purse and open rules package annually attracts a diverse cross-section of talented weekend racers to do battle at the wide and racy quarter-mile oval.

Last year, Modified upstart Justin Holland of White Lake, N.Y., shocked the 72-car field, holding off Billy Pauch Jr. of Frenchtown, N.J., for the SuperNationals victory, bringing home cash and prizes totaling nearly $7,000! Kevin Hirthler of Boyertown, Pa., was the 2009 SuperNationals victor and Mike Ricci of Rosendale, N.Y., topped the inaugural at Afton in 2006.

Holland, a winner at Five Mile Point this season, has already filed his entry for the 2011 SuperNationals as he looks to become the first repeat winner of the event.

This year, the big-block/small-block Modifieds headline the program with a 50-lap feature event. The victor earns $5,000 so long as they've posted the $20 "Gambler's Fee" prior to the start of qualifying. Also on the program are the Race of Champions Street Stocks, Four Cylinders and a Figure Eight event paying $1,000 to the winner!

A $1,000 cash bonus is in place should one driver win both the SuperNationals at Five Mile Point on Saturday (Oct. 8) and the new 'Outlaw 100' event at Brewerton (N.Y.) Speedway on Thursday night (Oct. 6). The highest-finishing driver from Brewerton's Thursday field not to qualify at Five Mile Point Saturday will be added to the main event.

All racing activity will be held on the Saturday portion (Oct. 8) of the program, eliminating hotel costs for budget-minded race teams. Friday night (Oct. 7) will be reserved for an open practice session.

Entry forms have been posted on the official event website:
www.bdmotorsportsmedia.com. Early registration runs through Sept. 25 at $15. After Sept. 25, the registration fee increases to $20. There will be a drawing involving the first 10 entries received - the winner takes home two FREE pit passes to Saturday's event, a $60 value.

Moments after the registration forms went online, Scott Van Gorder of Laurel, Del., filed the first official entry. Van Gorder, a Delaware International Speedway regular, has attended the last two SuperNationals events and was part of the starting field for the 2009 version with his familiar No. 17. Last year, he narrowly missed out on qualifying for the main event.

A "split program" is again planned with qualifying for support divisions held earlier in the day, meaning fans can arrive in time for Modified qualifying and support-division features.

SuperNationals Modified rules are relaxed to encourage participation from across the Northeast. Any 13- by 92-inch Modified tire will be allowed. Sail panels are permitted. Big- and small-block engine combinations running on gasoline or methanol will run with varying weight combinations.

"We will allow teams from across the Northeast to come and race under their own rules, without having to shell out additional money," Deyo said.

Competitors will draw for heat-race starting positions with a feature redraw in place. In the interest of fan entertainment, there will be no time trials.

Lap sponsorships and other marketing opportunities are available by contacting event promoter Brett Deyo. For further information on the Short Track SuperNationals, contact Brett Deyo by phone at 845.728.2781 or via e-mail:
