RAIN FORCES POSTPONEMENT OF WADE DECKER MEMORIAL RACE AT THUNDER MOUNTAIN SPEEDWAY TO SUNDAY, AUG. 31 (7-13-14)‏

Rain Postpones Sunday’s MjH Oilfield Wade Decker Memorial Race At Thunder Mountain Speedway; Event Now Scheduled For Sunday, Aug. 31, Sets Up Huge Two-Day Labor Day Weekend On The Mountain!
CENTER LISLE, NY – Heavy rain and severe weather forced the postponement of Sunday’s scheduled MjH Oilfield Wade Decker Memorial event at Thunder Mountain Speedway.
Due to a predicted poor weather day on the initially announced rain date – Monday, July 14 – the event in its entirety has been rescheduled to Sunday, Aug. 31 by track owner Karl Spoonhower and the Decker family.
“There was so much hype about this race, it’s a shame the weather had to ruin what should have been a good show,” Spoonhower said. “We’re disappointed it had to get pushed back, but we were left with no choice.”
The move to Labor Day weekend Sunday night (Aug. 31) sets up a huge weekend of racing at Thunder Mountain to wrap up the summer.
On Saturday night (Aug. 30), BD Motorsports Media LLC will present the ‘Sprint Car Saturday’ headlined by the inaugural visit of the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints (ESS) 360 Sprint Cars, plus CRSA 305 Sprint Cars, Empire Lightning Sprints and SRP Sprints. A gigantic fireworks display will also be part of the historic program.
On Sunday (Aug. 31), attention will turn to the MjH Oilfield Wade Decker Memorial with Modifieds running 50 laps for $5,000 to win, Sportsman in a 40-lap event offering a $1,250 top prize and Street Stocks racing 30 laps for $1,000 to win in an event sponsored by Cartrette Logging.
There will be a $1,000-to-win Modified Dash for Cash, bonuses, lap money, fan giveaways and more. All posted purses and incentives will remain the same (or may grow) on the rescheduled date.
Camping will be permitted with plans for a post-race party on Saturday following the completion of racing. A two-day pass will also be offered for fans.
Racing resumes on Saturday (July 19) with a complete program of Modifieds, Sportsman, Rookie Sportsman, Street Stocks, IMCA-style Modifieds, Pure Stocks, Empire Sport Trucks and Four Cylinders. Residents of Chenango Forks will be admitted for $5 to the grandstands with photo ID.
Gates open at 4 p.m. with hot laps at 6:30 p.m. and racing at 7 p.m.  Adult grandstand admission is $10. Seniors (65 and over) and students (ages 10-17) pay $8. Kids nine and under are FREE. Pit admission is $30, with no license required.
