IT'S WIN NUMBER 122 FOR HORTON AT BRIDGEPORT
Hill, Liccardi and Reinhardt Visit Victory Lane

It was win number 122 for the winningest driver in the history of the Bridgeport Speedway!

Jimmy Horton powered Dieter Schmidt's Lincoln Auto Body #5 to the front of the field on lap eight and never looked back as he added yet another Bridgeport Feature win to his career totals in the Spirit Dodge Big Block Modified feature.  Travis Hill
drove though through the field from his fourteenth starting position to win his third 811 Dig Safely Crate/Sportsman feature of the season while Kyle Reinhardt picked up the win in the third hand of the Bethman Auto Center/ Bruce's Speed Shop/Champion Tire Poker Series for the Hilborn Tri-State Race Savers Sprint Car event.  Mike Liccardi became the sixth different winner in the DA's Auto Body & Repair Rookie division.

Polesitter, Mike Franz and Brett Ballard paced the starting field to the green flag for the 25 lap Spirit Dodge Big Block Modified Feature.  Ballard took the lead on the start as Franz fell in line in second.

Horton worked his way up to second before a lap seven caution for Stan Frankenfield and wheeled into the lead by Frantz on  lap eight.  Horton found the inside of the 5/8 mile speedway to his liking and used it to drive away from the field .  Hendrickson drove into second at the half way mark ahead of Franz, Rick Laubach and Eric Kormann.

Horton was able to drive away from the field following each restart as Hendrickson ran a solid second in the C&S Trucking #6 small block.  Laubach, who started sixteenth,  moved past Franz on lap fifteen to take over third.    Four laps later, Richie Pratt Jr. drove into the top five, passing Kormann and Franz to take over fourth.

Horton maintained nearly a straightaway advantage as things heated up for second in the final five laps.  Laubach tried everything in the final laps to take over second but when the checkered flag waved at the end of twenty five laps, it was Horton, Hendrickson, Laubach, Pratt and Franz across the finish.  It was a season best performance for Horton, Hendrickson and Franz.

Kris Lilick took the early race lead in the 811 Dig Safely Crate Sportsman Feature.  Prior to a lap five restart, Travis Hill ran tenth but a high and wide charge took Hill to second on lap six.  One lap later, Hill was the race leader.  Jesse James Bonaduce also used the high line to get to second on lap ten.  Third through fifth was determined in the final laps as Steve Searock took third from Ricky DiEva.  Jesse Hill also passed DiEva in the final laps.  Travis Hill led the way to the checkered flag followed by Bonaduce, Searock, Jesse Hill and DiEva.

Fuel mileage became an issue during the Hilborn TSRS Sprint Car feature as multiple incidents resulted in extra laps for the winged competitors.  Adam Carberry took the lead on lap one after starting in fourth.  Reinhardt took over second on lap six after starting eighth and 2013 TSRS Champion, Mike Haggenbottom ran third by lap eight.  Haggenbottom slowed with just under five laps to go as fuel became and issue on the John Haggenbottom owned #24.  When Carberry slowed with less than two miles left to run, Reinhardt became the race leader as he led Bob DeVault, Tim Tanner, Dave Brown and Carberry to the checkered flag.

Mike Liccardi took the lead from his outside pole starting spot to win the 8 lap DA's Auto Body & Repair Rookie Feature but Steve Desmelyk pressed Liccardi right down to the wire.  The margin of victory was three one hundreths of a second as Liccardi added his name to the list of Rookie winners this season.  Trailing Liccardi and Desmelyk were Rich Deck, Matthew Peck and David Crossman.

The Big Block Modified don sail panels for next Saturday night's events that will include a full schedule of Big Block Modifieds, Crate/Sportsman, Rookie and Outlaw stocks, starting a 7pm.  Friday night action on the quarter mile will see three divisions compete as the 600cc and 270cc Micro Sprints are joined by the 4 Cyclinders with racing beginning a 8pm.
