MODIFIED POINT BATTLE IS TIGHT AT GRANDVIEW, VINTAGE CARS PART OF FOUR DIVISION SHOW ON SATURDAY
BECHTELSVILLE, PA June 10, 2014 . . . Just 115 points separate the top three racers at Grandview Speedway as they battle for the lucrative NASCAR Whelen All American Series 358 Modified championship. Nine time champion Jeff Strunk leads the standings with five time champion Duane Howard and seven time champion Craig VonDohren close behind. And you cannot count out Doug Manmiller who is lurking in fourth spot.
            Action with the NASCAR 358 Modifieds will join the BRC Late Models and Sportsman stock cars as part of PBGW sponsored night on Saturday, June 14 at Grandview Speedway. Added to the night of excitement is the Blast from the Past Vintage stock cars giving fans a chance to see what stock car racing was all about some years back.
            The first 250 Dads with adult admission tickets through the main gate will receive Grandview Speedway Can Koozies (as long as they arrive, are delivered, as promised). In addition the youngest father and oldest father will receive two tickets to a future event at Grandview Speedway along with two tickets to see the exciting Verizon IndyCar races at Pocono Raceway on July 6th.
            The four division show will include a 30-lap feature for the Modifieds along with 25-lap features for the BRC Late Models and Sportsman. Jared Umbenhauer will be going for his sixth win of the season in the Sportsman.  The Vintage cars are scheduled to race in a 15-lap feature race.
            When gates open at 5:30 p.m. Modified racer Ryan Kunkle, Sportsman racer Erik Renninger and Late Model talent Cory Merkel will participate in the Low Down & Dirty Meet and Greet at the main entrance. Racing starts at 7:30 p.m. Adult admission for the jam packed night of racing action is just $15 while youngsters 12 and under are admitted for FREE.
            Coming up on Saturday, June 21st is the RCN-TV sponsored night featuring the powerful and exciting open wheeled winged Rislone United Racing Company sprint cars along with the action packed NASCAR 358 Modifieds. This is one of the most popular crowd pleasing events of the season. Adult admission for this special event will be $25.
            Then on Sunday, June 22nd, sprint car fans will be treated to the first Open Wheel Spectacular of the season and that will include the TSRS winged sprint cars along with the American Racing Drivers Club wingless midgets. The ARDC organization is in the midst of celebrating their 75th anniversary. Adult admission will be $15.
