JJ GRASSO EYES $8,000 TO WIN MACH-1 NATIONAL OPEN SATURDAY NIGHT AT SELINSGROVE SPEEDWAY

JJ Grasso is looking for a “hat trick” this Saturday night, September 28  at the Selinsgrove Speedway as he  goes after his third  sprint win in three starts at the big half-mile oval in Selinsgrove, PA.    With $8,000 on the line to win the 35 lap MACH-1 National Open for 360/358 sprints,  Grasso will again be racing on the edge as only the Middletown, DE driver can do.     Grasso has four URC wins this season and recently won the Jersey Rush 410 sprint event at the New Egypt Speedway.   In the Rislone URC Sprint Series point chase, Grasso is the point leader, looking for his second URC title.   Along with JJ Grasso, several other drivers have plans to win the MACH-1 National Open, including URC’s “Wild Child” Josh Weller, Davey “No Panic” Franek, eight time URC Champion Curt Michael, Randy West, Chad Trout, Ed Aiken and URC’s most recent winner, Brian Carber.

The eighteenth event of the 2013 Rislone URC Sprint Series will showcase the Mach-1 National Open for 358-360 sprints.    Time trials, two rounds of heat races and a pair of “B” Mains will be the qualifying protocol leading up to the thirty-five lap  $8,000 to win Mach-1 National Open.  This rich payoff will offer $5,000 to finish second, $3,400 for third, $3,100 for fourth and $2,550 for fifth.   $1,000 will go to the tenth place finisher with $500 paid just to take the green flag in the main event.    The Selinsgrove event will serve up a new qualifying format with  two rounds of heat races that will offer an extra forty points  and fifty appearance points in addition to the regular nightly point fund distribution.

One of the hottest drivers at Selinsgrove Grove,  Pat Cannon of  Etters, PA will be a favorite in the line-up.  Cannon is hot off a 410 sprint car win at Selinsgrove.   The Empire Super Sprints are part of the show as well with several of their top guns planning to compete including Steve Poirier, Jason Barney and Paul Kinney.    Always a favorite at Selinsgrove Speedway in Mark Smith, driver of the Mach-1 360 sprint car.

Adult admission prices are $18, students $14 and the pit fee is $30.   Race time is set for 7 PM on Saturday night, September 28 and in the event of rain, Sunday, September 29 will be the rain date with a 6 PM starting time.   Selinsgrove Speedway is a 1/2-mile high-banked oval dirt track located in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania.   Selinsgrove Speedway is located at the intersection of Routes 11&15 and Route 35 in Central Pennsylvania.  Fans should take the Route 35 exit off of routes 11 & 15.
