BIG DIAMOND SPEEDWAY ANNOUNCES SCHEDULE CHANGE FOR THIS COMING SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 15th.
MINERSVILLE, PA - September 9th, 2013
Big Diamond Speedway owners/promoters Jake and Jasmine Smulley, out of respect for all the teams wanting to attend the Freedom 76 race at Grandview Speedway the prior evening, have announced an important schedule change for Sunday, September 15th.
The ZY Pyrotechnics 358 Modifieds have been removed from the racing card this coming Sunday. In their place will be the Late Models from Grandview, Williams Grove, and Susquehanna Speedways. Any Late Model legal at any of those three speedways will be legal for this event. The feature event will be 25 laps for $1,000 to win and $100 to take the green. Also on the card will be the USS Achey Sportsman, also going 25 laps for $1,000 to win and $100 to take the green. The final division on the card will be the Savage 61 Roadrunners, going 20 laps for $225 to win.
This event will be the first Late Model event run at the speedway since June 24th, 2009 when Josh Richards won the 40 lap Coal Country 40 World of Outlaws sanctioned event.
A great field of drivers is expected for each of the three divisions.
Heat line-ups will be by luck of the draw for all divisions. The Late Models will redraw for their feature line-up. The Sportsman and Roadrunners will be lined up by normal handicapping procedures, as these races will be point events for those two divisions.
Grandstand admission for this event will be $12.00. Seniors, students, and active military (all with proper ID) will be $10.00. Kids 12 and under are free.
Pit participation fees will be $30.00 for members and $40.00 for non-members. Grandview, Williams Grove, and Susquehanna pit licenses will be accepted for the member price for Late Models. Big Diamond, Grandview, New Egypt, and Bridgeport pit licenses will be accepted for the member price for Sportsman.
Gates open at 4:00 PM with warm-ups at 5:45 PM and the first heat hitting the track at 6:15.
Everything possible will be done to get this show completed at a respectable hour. This past Sunday's events took 2 1/2 hours to complete, having fans on their way home by 8:45 PM (not counting the powder puff racing).
So mark it on your calendar and plan to be there for a great early evening show of Late Models, Sportsman, and Roadrunners. You'll be glad you did.
