Rislone URC Sprint Series

MACH 1 CHASSIS URC/358
CHALLENGE AT WILLIAMS GROVE FRIDAY NIGHT, AUGUST 23, URC TO RETURN TO PORT ROYAL
SATURDAY, AUGUST 24
The Rislone URC Sprint Series
is gearing up for a huge two race weekend in Central Pennsylvania with stops at
the Williams Grove Speedway on Friday night, August 23rd followed by
a visit to the Port Royal Speedway on Saturday night, August 24. Without a
doubt, these two events are often the most popular stops on the URC schedule.
The Friday night event at the Williams Grove Speedway is sponsored by MACH 1
Chassis and will offer at $2,200 first place prize to the winner of the
twenty-five lap feature event. The following night at Port Royal, the winner
will collect $2,000. URC competitors will chase in excess of $21,000 for the
two race weekend.
Mach 1 Chassis maintains a
large inventory of open wheel parts and accessories at their Mechanicsburg, PA
shop. They inventory enough parts and products to assemble a complete
race-ready roller. Mach 1 fabricates many parts in-house as well as serving as
an authorized dealer for many of the sports leading manufacturers. If they
don’t have it, Mach 1 will get it for you! Take a tour of the Mach 1 Shop by
visiting www.youtube.com/watch?v=w8_tib553C4. For
more information, call Mach 1 at 570 898 8018.
The Mach 1 URC/358 sprint
challenge will blend the best drivers of URC and the best of the Williams Grove
358 sprints, seeding drivers from the top twenty in points for the heat race
line-ups. Mark Smith was the recent winner of the Rislone Nationals at
Williams Grove and is an expected entry for this event on Friday night, August
23.
In addition to this great
racing program, Williams Grove Speedway and URC will offer a silent auction for
the benefit of the Kramer Williamson family. Williamson lost is life following
a sprint car accident at the Lincoln Speedway on Saturday night, August 3. The
silent auction will begin at 5:30 PM and close at 8:30 PM and will take place
outside the tunnel in the race track infield. A huge variety of items will be
donated for the auction and all items will be of interest to race car drivers,
car owners and race fans. There will be something for everyone. We
encourage everyone to bring cash or checks since we are unable to accept credit
cards. Please bring proper identification as well.
The following night, Saturday, August 24, the Rislone URC Sprints head to the Port Royal Speedway. URC has a heated point battle underway with JJ Grasso on top by a narrow margin over Davie Franek and Josh Weller. Randy West and Chad Trout round out the top five in points and these two drivers are enjoying their best season with URC. Grasso has three wins this season as Robbie Stillwaggon is a four time winner. Stillwaggon was the winner of the $4,000 to win URC/PST co-sanctioned event Friday night at the Black Rock Speedway. Grasso scored his third win of the season Saturday night winning at the Selinsgrove Speedway.
More news to come
on both of these events, but for now, plan to be at the Williams Grove Speedway
Friday night, August 23 and the Port Royal Speedway on Saturday night, August
24.
