ACTION-PACKED TWO DAYS THIS WEEKEND AT BRIDGEPORT
SPEEDWAY
Bridgeport, NJ (July 15, 2013) – There will be plenty of action
on and
off the track this weekend at Bridgeport Speedway. The quarter
mile
track will see action on Friday night with racing moving over to the
5/8 mile oval on Saturday evening.
After having off the past three
weekends, the Friday night racers are
itching to get back to action. This
weekend marks a big day for the
inner oval racers as there will be a full
night of racing with a five
feature show on July 19. The 600cc
Micro-Sprints will compete for a
hefty $500 first-place prize courtesy of
S&D Racing and the 270cc
Micro-Sprints and 4 Cylinder Enduro Cars will
be in action. Joining
the regular three divisions will be the 8 Cylinder
Enduro Cars. This
will mark their third appearance of the year on the
“little track” as
they compete in their normal 50-lap event. The 8
Cylinder Enduro Cars
will not start before 9:30 p.m., thus allowing any of
the traveling
teams plenty of time to arrive before their feature event.
Also on
the agenda will be the first appearance of the “Wingless” 600cc
micro
sprints as the drivers will shed their wings for this bonus
race.
Saturday will have three themes all in one night of racing as it
will
be Banner, Bike, & Pennsylvania Resident Night at Bridgeport
Speedway.
The mighty Big Block Modifieds, Crate/Sportsman, and Outlaw
Stocks
will all be in action on the 5/8 mile track. All fans are
encouraged
to show their creative and artistic side by making a banner of
their
favorite race car drivers for the banner contest. There will be
three
age groups with prizes for all the winners. Age groups will be
Adult
(16 or older), Teen 10-15, and children 9 and under. This will also
be Bridgeport’s third “Bike Night” of the season. All motorcycle
riders (driver) will be admitted free entrance to the grandstands and
will get to display their bike in the midway throughout the night.
June’s bike night saw over 30 fabulous motorcycles on display for all
the fans to admire.
Last but not least Saturday will be the first
ever “Pennsylvania
Resident” Night. Anyone with a valid ID of PA residency
will be
admitted for only $10 to the grandstand for Saturday’s Big Block
Modified, Crate/Sportsman, and Outlaw Stock show. “We wanted to
switch
it up a little this week and reach out to our neighbors across
the bridge,”
offered promoter Keith Hoffman who wants to give his
home-state fans a
taste of what Bridgeport is all about. “We
appreciate everyone’s support
this year but we know it’s a little
harder when coming from out of state
with the tolls and extra fuel
costs. Hopefully this will show that we’re
always thinking about our
fans and thinking of ways to make it a little
easier to get to the
track.”
Bridgeport Speedway provides a safe
and secure family atmosphere, free
parking, giveaways and fan participation
games. Billed ‘The Fastest
Dirt Track in the East’, Bridgeport Speedway is
a banked 5/8th mile
dirt oval, featuring a dirt 1/4 mile oval embedded in
the center, and
is located in Southern New Jersey -- just minutes from
Pennsylvania
and Delaware at exit 14 off of I-295.
