BIG DIAMOND SPEEDWAY ADDS 4 SUNDAY SHOWS IN SEPTEMBER TO CLOSE OUT
SEASON
MINERSVILLE, PA - JULY 14th, 2013
The positive changes
continue to unfold.
New owners Jake and Jasmine Smulley promised change
when they purchased Big Diamond Speedway back in October of 2012, and they
continue to deliver.
This year saw the first ever "Money in the
Mountains" 40 lap event for both big and small block modifieds paying $7,500 to
win and $500 to take the green. It saw the addition of the Street Stock
division for the first time in over a decade, giving them eight races to
showcase their talent. On July 19th fans will be part of the first ever
FANdemonium event, offering free grandstand admission to anyone that attends.
On July 26th, the return of the Crazy 8's, four 8 lap feature events for the
Roadrunners is on the schedule.
Now, for the first time in Big Diamond
Speedway history, there will be racing every single Sunday evening for the
entire month of September. The annual Coalcracker 72 race was already scheduled
for Labor Day weekend, Sunday September 1st. That date just seemed too early to
end what so far is shaping up to be a fanatastic 2013 racing season.
Unfortunately, Friday night football is king in Schuylkill County and race
crowds tend to drop off once the football games begin. The solution: races have
now been added for September 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th, letting fans get both
their football and racing fix each and every weekend in September. Currently
each show will consist of the ZY Pyrotechnics 358 Modifieds, USS Achey
Sportsman, and Savage 61 Roadruners. Warm-ups will be at 5:45 PM with the first
heat scheduled to hit the track at 6:15 PM sharp.
Each one of these
added events will be point races, with the final point race being Sunday,
September 29th. That will be the night we crown the champions in our three main
divisions.
So mark your calendars, tell your friends, and plan on
spending each and every Sunday in September at Big Diamond Speedway.
