410 Super Sprints & 358 Sprint Cars Return to SSP This Sunday at 7:00 p.m.

Newberrytown, PA (June 13, 2013) – On Sunday night, June 16, the 410 Super Sprint Cars return to SSP with the Late Models in the Father’s Day Sprint Car Special. The 410 cubic inch powered cars will be joined by the 358 Sprint Cars.

The Super Sprint Car feature will pay $3,500-to-win for the 25-lap feature event. Non-qualifiers for the A-Main feature will receive a complimentary non-transferrable entry fee ($50.00 value) for the Final Showdown to be held at SSP in November. For the Super Sprint Cars, mufflers WILL NOT be required and Hoosier Brand Spec Tires will be required on all four corners (same as the 2013 rules at Williams Grove, Lincoln and Port Royal Speedways). All other rules will follow the generally accepted rules for Sprint Cars at local weekly Central PA Sprint Car tracks (1400 pounds weight rule). Raceivers will be mandatory for all Sprint Cars.

The 358 Sprint Car feature will pay $1,500-to-win for the 20-lap feature event. Non-qualifiers for the A-Main feature will receive a complimentary non-transferrable entry fee ($50.00 value) for the Final Showdown to be held at SSP in November. For the 358 Sprint Cars, mufflers WILL NOT be required and Hoosier Brand Spec Tires will be required on all four corners (same as the 2013 rules at Williams Grove, Lincoln and Selinsgrove Speedways). All other rules of the Central PA 358 Sprint Cars will prevail for this event (1500 pounds weight rule). Raceivers will be mandatory for all Sprint Cars.

On Sunday, the start time has been changed from the originally posted earlier in the season. The pit gates will open at 4:30 p.m. Grandstand gates will open at 5:00 p.m. Track Prep laps begin at 6:30 p.m. with qualifying races at 7:00 p.m. followed by consolation races and feature events.

General Admission Grandstand ticket prices for Sunday night are Adults (ages 18-59) $18.00; Young Adults (ages 11-17) & Senior Adults (60 & Older) $15.00; Children (10 & under) are free. Pit pass prices are $25.00 with a reduced price of $22.00 for all pit competitor license holders. The minimum age requirement to purchase a pit pass is 12 years of age with a copy of a birth certificate is required for all ages 12 to 14. Ticket Stubs from the Sunday, May 13, Saturday, June 8 or Sunday, June 9 may be used for Sunday, June 16 for the Repeat Fan Discount ($2.00).

The Next Wednesday Night Test & Tune is on June 26

The next Wednesday Night Test & Tune for any type of racecar will be on Wednesday, June 26. The gates will open at 5:00 p.m. with practice sessions rotating for each class from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The cost is $12.00 per person for pit passes and a $20.00 fee for each racecar entering the pit area ($32.00 per car & driver combination). Each session will be 4-6 laps per session depending on car count. The grandstands are open free to the public. Each class will receive 4 to 5 rounds of 4/6 laps each or more if time permits. The fuel pumps from Miller’s Racing Parts will not be open. Anyone needing fuel should contact Miller’s Racing Parts directly at 717-766-0181. The main concession stand will be open throughout the night.

Due to the completion of only half the Wednesday Night Test & Tune on April 24, all pit passes and car entries from the April 24 Test & Tune may be used for half credit ($6.00 towards pit passes and $10 towards car entry) for any Test & Tune session through October 23, 2013. Pit passes from April 24 must be presented for credit.

Also on Wednesday night, there will an open practice session for quarter midgets, karts and Adult Speedcars at the Outback Track from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. under the lights. The gates will open at 5:30 p.m. with open practice from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The cost will be $20.00 per driver with no charge for anyone else entering the grandstand and “cold pit” areas. All Outback Track participants should enter the pits from the Kise Mill Road entrance behind turn 2 of the “Big Track.”

- Track Rental for the “Big Track” and the “Outback Track” – The “Big track” and the “Outback track” are available for rent. The “Big Track” rental fee is $1,400.00 for 4 hours and may be split between a maximum of five-(5) drivers/teams. Only one car is permitted on the track at a time. If an ambulance is requested, it is an additional $75.00 per hour. For nighttime rentals at the “Big Track”, an additional $100.00 per hour will be charged for lights.

The rental price for the “Outback Track” is $400.00 for 4 hours during the day /$500.00 at night and may be split between a maximum of five-(5) drivers/teams. To reserve either track, please call 717-292-1696.

- Repeat Fan Discount Continues for 2013 – The popular “Repeat Fan Discount” program will continue at SSP in 2013. There is a $2.00 repeat fan discount for each person with a ticket stub from races during the previous week’s event only. The Repeat Fan Discount is not valid for pit pass purchases.
