RISLONE URC SPRINT SERIES
DAVIE FRANEK & ROBBIE STILLWAGGON CONTINUE POINT BATTLE INTO 2013
For most of the 2012 season, Davie Franek and Robbie Stillwaggon battled for the Rislone URC Sprint Series Championship, then in the final race of the season, Stillwaggon earned enough points with a strong run at the Grandview Speedway to win the 2012 URC Championship crown. After two races, Stillwaggon and Franek are at it again. In the 2013 URC season opener, Franek was leading the feature then in the final laps he lost his brakes turning the top spot over to Stillwaggon who went on to win the main event. Saturday night at the Selinsgrove Speedway, by luck of the draw, Stillwaggon and Franek were on the track together during time trials. In the feature event, both drivers had an off night with Franek finishing twelfth and Stillwaggon sixteenth. But when we total the points, Franek is on top of the point chase with 257 points with Stillwaggon second with 242 points.
Brian Carber of Piperville, PA is new to URC in 2013 and he is sitting third in points with 240, tied with Josh Weller as Saturday night feature winner JJ Grasso follows to round out the top five. Six through ten include Randy West, Bryn Gohn, Joey Biasi, Kevin Darling and Chad Trout.
Grasso was extremely fast Saturday night on his way to winning the Jack Gunn Memorial and if runs the entire series, will certainly be a contender for the title.
The Rislone URC Sprint Series will be in action this Saturday night at the Delaware International Speedway where racing will get underway at 7 PM. Maytown, PA sprint car driver Ryan Wilson is planning to be in action at Delaware International Speedway. This is will mark his first visit to the Delaware speed plant. Wilson has one career win with URC, that victory came in 2012 when he won the feature event at the Port Royal Speedway.
