TSRS SPRINT CARS JOIN THE 410 SPRINT CARS FOR
BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY’S
NIGHT OF WINGS 2013
Bridgeport, NJ (May 24,
2013) – The TSRS Sprint Cars, the popular and
affordable 305 Sprint Car
organization, have been added as the second
division to Bridgeport
Speedway’s Night of Wings 2013 show. This
special event, slated for
Wednesday, June 12, will have the 410 Sprint
Cars as the headline division.
The TSRS Sprint Car group has seen
tremendous growth as evidenced by the
thirty-four entrants for the
rained-out May 18 program at Bridgeport
Speedway. “We are looking
forward to the return of the TSRS Sprint Cars for
our Night of Wings
2013 show. Along with the 410 Sprint Cars, the race cars
fans should
really enjoy this show,” said promoter Keith
Hoffman.
Hoffman and Mike Heffner, the owner of the Lelands.com 410
Sprint Car,
have joined forces to co-promote this race. The winner of the
25-lap
main event for the 410 Sprint Cars will receive $7,000 with $500 to
take the green. For non-qualifiers, $100 in tow money will be given.
A
large field of drivers is expected to be on hand. Lance Dewease, the
wheelman for Heffner’s Sprint Car in 2013, will return and is seeking
to repeat his 2012 Night of Wings winning effort. Dave Blaney, who
drives for Tommy Baldwin Racing in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, has
made plans to be at Bridgeport Speedway on Wednesday, June 12. In
addition, Blaney will be participating in a pre-race meet and greet
session. With the All-Star Sprint Car Series in the area, several
drivers that follow the circuit are interested in attending. Brent
Marks, a young and hot sprint car driver with 3 feature wins to his
credit in 2013, is planning to be on hand as well. For 360 Sprint Car
entrants, a $500 bonus for the top finishing 360 Sprint Car has been
established for the program. Several sponsors have come on board
including Rider Racing Engines, Wings Unlimited, Viper Venom Fuel, and
Lelands.com.
A unique qualifying format introduced at last year’s
Night of Wings
show will be employed for the 410 Sprint Cars. During
registration,
each 410 Sprint Car driver will draw a pill to determine his
or her
heat race group. Each grouping will go out for time trials and an
inversion of the top four (4) will set the starting lineup of each
respective heat race. Drivers not in the top four (4) of their groups
will be lined up in the qualifying events by time. The first two (2)
finishers in each heat race are eligible for the feature redraw and
the
fastest qualifier in each grouping will be added as well providing
the
driver finishes the heat race in a qualifying position. All other
heat race
qualifiers will be assigned a starting position in the main
event by
time.
On Wednesday, June 12, the pit gates will unlock at 4:00 p.m. with
the
spectator turnstiles opening at 5:00 p.m. Hot laps will get underway
at 7:00 p.m. with racing action starting at 7:30 p.m. Night of Wings
2013 tickets for fans 16 and older will be $25 in advance or $30 on
the
day of the show. Admission for students (10-15) will be $15 and
children 9
and under are free. Skyboxes are available for this event
as well and can
be reserved by contacting the speedway office at
856-467-4407. A rain date
of Thursday, June 13 has been scheduled for
this race.
