OPEN
WHEEL ACTION ENDS MONTHS OF MAY AND JUNE AT BIG DIAMOND
SPEEDWAY
MINERSVILLE, PA - MAY 19th, 2013
For fans of Big Diamond
Speedway looking for some open wheel excitement, look no further then the end of
May and June to get your fix.
On Friday, May 31st, Big Diamond is pleased
to welcome the TSRS 305 Sprint Cars to the speedway for the first of two shows
this season. Led by defending champion Mike Haggenbottom, Rick Steif, Steve
Wilson, Joe Lord, Tim Tanner, and a host of others, this group is sure to put on
a fantastic race. Forty three cars have competed in this series to date in
2013, and it is a double points show this evening, so a great field of cars is
expected. These cars may be a little slower than there 358/360/410
counterparts, but that doesn't take away from the racing excitement. The TSRS
305 Sprints offer clean, close, exciting racing for everyone to enjoy. They
will be joined on the racing card by the 358 Modifieds, Sportsman, Roadrunners,
and the 600cc Modifeds, who will also be making their first appearance of the
season.
Then on Sunday, June 30th, it's time for the big boys. The
Central PA 410 Sprint cars invade Big Diamond Speedway for the annual Sprint
Speed Week show. This will be round #3 of the Sprint Speed Week Series, and
will be a 30 lap event paying $5,000 to the winner. Former track champion and
multi-time Speed Week champion Fred Rahmer is expected to be on hand, along with
Brian Monteith, Lance Dewease, Dan Dietrich, and many, many more. This is
always one of the most exciting and well attended events during the racing
season at Big Diamond Speedway. Be sure to mark it on your calendar now so you
do not miss out. The Sprints will be joined this evening by the Roadrunner
division. Racing starts at 7:30 PM
Don't forget, Little Diamond Speedway
is still in action, with the next event being Sunday, June 9th at 2 PM. This is
a change from the original schedule, as this event was originally scheduled for
Thursday, June 6th. We have cancelled racing on the 6th and moved it to the 9th
in hopes of getting a better car count for the fans. 270cc Micro Sprints and
Slingshots make up the racing cars. Adult grandstand admission is only $8.00
and kids 12 and under are free.
