NEW EGYPT, NJ – Competitors at the inaugural
Pioneer Pole Buildings Inc. ‘Dirty Jersey 60’ will not go hungry.
When big-block Modified
and Sportsman teams arrive at New Egypt Speedway on Tuesday, June 18 (rain date:
June 19), they’ll be well fed thanks to Dietz & Watson, ERK Steering Repair
and Danny’s Pizza Pizzazz of Franklinville, N.J., and Millville, N.J. Participants in the ‘Dirty Jersey 60’ will be
treated to a pre-race competitor picnic.
Dietz & Watson hot
dogs, snacks and beverages will be available for drivers, car owners and crew
members upon their arrival at the speedway.
“We were looking at
ways to set our event apart,” said Pioneer Pole Buildings Inc. ‘Dirty Jersey 60’
co-promoter and Modified racing superstar Stewart Friesen, who is presenting the
return of Super DIRTcar Series big-block Modifieds to New Jersey with partner
Brett Deyo under the Friesen-Deyo Promotions banner.
“Whether you are a
traveling team or a local coming right to the track after work, we’re hoping
this will be something extra to make it a night to remember.”
The ‘Dirty Jersey 60’
features a Super DIRTcar Series 60-lap big-block Modified event for a purse
topping $27,000 plus lap money, bonuses and special awards. The ‘Dirty Jersey’
is the second event of the 2013 Super DIRTcar Series, which opens on Wednesday,
June 5 at Rolling Wheels (N.Y.) Raceway. It marks the first SDS event at New
Egypt in nearly six years.
The Modifieds are
joined on the program by the Open vs. Crate Sportsman in the ‘Turnpike 25’
offering a $750 winner’s share plus lap money and other perks.
The pre-race competitor
picnic will be set up in the pit area for teams to enjoy as they
arrive.
Dietz & Watson, ERK
Steering Repair and Danny’s Pizza Pizzazz are all backers of Eric Kormann’s No.
901 Hewlett Motorsports Modified. Kormann, a Bridgeport (N.J.) Speedway regular
from Vineland, N.J., will enter the ‘Dirty Jersey 60’ event. Kormann has already
competed under a DIRTcar sanction during the February events at Volusia (Fla.)
Speedway Park.
The ‘Dirty Jersey 60’
Modified program ends a long absence for the Northeast’s premier dirt Modified
touring series at New Egypt. The most recent Super DIRTcar Series stop at the
Garden State facility was Oct. 13, 2007 with Twins 50s won by Keith Hoffman of
Whitehall, Pa., and Matt Sheppard of Waterloo, N.Y. A total of 12 Super DIRTcar Series events
have been contested at NES: the first June 18, 1998 through the aforementioned
’07 date.
Rules and event
information have been posted on the ‘Dirty Jersey 60’ website at
www.bdmotorsportsmedia.com outlining prices, a
complete time schedule, specs for both divisions and more.
Marketing opportunities remain for the ‘Dirty Jersey 60’ inaugural event.
Lap sponsorships are on sale for the Modifieds ($25 per lap) and Sportsman ($20
per lap). To inquire about lap or bonus
award sponsorships, contact Brett Deyo at Deyo99H@aol.com or by phone: 845.728.2781.

planned for 6:45 p.m. and Modified qualifying begins at 7:15 p.m. A rain date for Wednesday, June 19 has been
