RISLONE URC SPRINT SEIRES

SCOTT LUTZ AWAITS FRIDAY, APRIL 26 RISLONE URC SPRINT SERES OPENER AT BIG DIAMOND SPEEDWAY

Scott Lutz of Jonestown, PA is excited about the 2013 Rislone URC Sprint Series set to open their sixty-sixth season on Friday night, April 26 at the Big Diamond Speedway.

“We’re starting the season with a new motor and a goal to finish in the top ten in points and honestly, we would be disappointed if don’t take a win this year. After all, you do go to races to win”, commented the forty-four year old Lutz. Scott is well versed in the sport, visiting many of the area race tracks over the years to watch his father, Carl Lutz race his Super Sportsman. Scott is married with three children and two grandchildren and along with car owner Dave McGuire of Lebanon, PA, will manage this newly formed team in the coming year.

Scott’s URC sprint car will sport the #33 (the same car number his father once used) and the familiar blue and black color combination. Sponsors include Speedway Car Wash and Sleazy Signs and Designs.

“We did some 410 sprint car racing prior to 2012 and then took a look at URC”. Lutz continued, “We had fun racing URC and in fact, really enjoyed it mainly because everyone gets along they are always so willing to help”.

At this point, Lutz and Car Owner Dave McGuire plan to run the entire URC Rislone Sprint Series schedule. For Scott, his two favorite tracks are the Big Diamond and Grandview Speedway’s.

“We feel we accomplished a lot with the equipment we had last year, so with the pre-season prep and the equipment we now have in the garage, we are looking for a real good season”, said Lutz.

URC moved to double-file restarts in 2012 and will continue that process again in 2013. How does Scott Lutz feel about the double-file restarts? “Well, I have mixed feeling about it. Last year it didn’t hurt me but on the other hand, it didn’t work to my advantage as yet. . . .We will see this year”.

Lutz will have his hands full as he chases that first career URC win. Robbie Stillwaggon, Josh Weller, Dave Ely, Kramer Williamson, Randy West, Art Liedl, Andy Best, Kevin Darling, Tim Kelly, Ed Aikin, Troy Betts, JJ Grasso and Joey Biasi are just a few of the top contenders for 2013.
