CHRIS LOCUSON WINS ON OPENING NIGHT AT BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY

Bridgeport, NJ (April 6, 2013) – At Bridgeport Speedway’s season
opening event on the quarter mile, Chris Locuson won the 600cc
Micro-Sprint feature. Richie Keller topped the field in the 270cc
Micro-Sprint main event with Warren Stradley taking the checkered flag
in the 4-Cylinder Enduro Car race.

In the 20-lap feature for the 600cc Micro-Sprints, polesitter Chris
Locuson grabbed the lead and was followed by Bill Thomas and Tyler
DeVault. With five tours completed and one caution period occurring,
Locuson had a half-straightaway lead. Just as the leader was
approaching lap traffic on the eighth circuit, DeVault stopped on the
home stretch with a mechanical issue and the yellow flag waved. When
action got back under, Locuson remained on top with Thomas in second.
After a total of four cautions took place from laps 9 through 11, the
top two remained in order with Jon Keller grabbing a firm hold on
third place over Tim Buckwalter on lap 12. As Locuson began to
distance himself from the pack, Thomas and Keller battled for second
position over several revolutions until Keller won the position with
four laps remaining. As the race entered its late stages, Locuson
continued to build his lead over his rivals and streaked to an opening
day victory. Keller finished in second after starting the race in
eighth. With Thomas taking third, ninth place starting Tim Iulg wound
up in fourth. Buckwalter came home in fifth. Qualifying events in the
600cc Micro-Sprint division went to Chris Locuson, Tim Buckwalter, and
Bill Thomas.

After taking the lead on the third circuit, Richie Keller held off a
late race charge by Justin Stillwagon to win the 20-lap 270cc
Micro-Sprint feature. Marco Michetti led the first two tours of the
contest before the fourth place starting Keller took over. Nick
Walton’s strong run resulted in a third place finish. Veterans Charlie
Lamanna and John Blanda completed the top five. Justin Stillwagon and
Nick Walton were victors in the heat races for the 270cc Micro-Sprints.

Warren Stradley led from start to finish to capture the 20-lap
4-Cylinder Enduro Car race. The runner-up spot went to Todd Francis.
John Gray, Art Knapp, and Scott Dunn finished behind the top two.
