TWIN 35-LAP FEATURES FOR NASCAR MODIFIEDS AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY SATURDAY

TWIN 35-LAP FEATURES FOR NASCAR 358 MODIFIEDS PLUS RACING FOR LATE MODELS AND SPORTSMAN SATURDAY AT GRANDVIEW

BECHTELSVILLE, PA April 11, 2013 . . . The NASCAR 358 Modified stock cars will be in the limelight on Saturday, April 13th, 7 p.m. at Grandview Speedway when twin 35-lap feature races are presented.
Racers will be going after $3250 to win in each of the feature races. TP Trailers of Limerick has kicked in the $250 for each winner provided their decal is clearly visible on each side of the race car. In addition there will be beautiful custom trophies created by Bux-Mont Awards of Lansdale and Sellersville.
Qualifying heat races will be used to fill the starting field for each of the 35-lap features. Once the first feature is over those racers unable to make it out to start the second feature will be replaced by alternate starters.
Qualifying heat starting spots will be based on points earned in the opening night races.
The second feature will see the first 15 finishers in the first feature being re-handicapped with the winner starting 15th. The rest of the field will start straight-up based on their finish in the first race.
Points will be awarded for each feature.
“It has been a while since we have run a double feature program so there may be some adjustments made on race night,” said track marketing director Ernie Saxton. “This is going to be an interesting night of racing, very exciting, not only for the racers but for fans.”
With $3250 up for grabs for each Modified feature it will have an impact on how hard the racers work for the wins.
Also part of the show will include Late Models and Sportsman running in a full series of qualifying races topped off by 25 lap features.
Three of the Grandview regular racers ( Buddy Mertz, Erik Renninger and a Modified driver) will take part in an autograph session starting as soon as spectator gates open at 5 p.m. First 25 youngsters showing up for the autographs will receive an autograph photo card with all 3 drivers on it. Session takes place in front of the main gate.
Kirsten Sowers, who has sung at many area sporting events, will sing the National Anthem.
Adult admission is $20 while youngsters 6 thru 12 pay just $5. Children under 6 are admitted for FREE.
The first edition of the weekly Grandview Groove track magazine will be available featuring color covers with some great photos of the top performers and last week‘s feature winners. The book includes a roster, complete results of last Saturday’s racing events, short stories on Kaitie McCardle, newcomer Tim Buckwalter and Rick Todorow.
