LITTLE DIAMOND SPEEDWAY READY FOR OPENING DAY

MINERSVILLE, PA - APRIL 22nd, 2013

This coming Thursday, April 25th, Little Diamond Speedway will once again try to get the season started with the cooperation of Mother Nature.

Interest is running high, with calls and emails arriving daily from interested competitors.

This weeks seasoning opening event will feature the 125cc Micro Sprints, 270cc Micro Sprints, and Slingshots, who will be competing in an MA Silver Regional Tour Race. A full slate of qualifying heats, consis (if needed), and features will be run for each division. A strong field of Slingshots is expected, as they have another tour race scheduled at Linda's Speedway the following evening.

One item of note for the Slingshots; we will not be doing the dual heat format. Each driver will only run one heat event and the top two from each heat will redraw for the feature starting spots. All other qualifiers will fall in order behind the cars from the redraw.

The following Thursday, May 2nd, Little Diamond will once again be in action with the same three division format.

Gates open at 6 PM with warm-ups slated for 6:45 PM. Managements goal is to have the entire show completed in 2 hours or less each and every week to insure everyone gets home at a reasonable hour.

Pit participation fee will be $20 per person, with no age limits on who can enter the pit area. Pit membership is free, with no license required. Car registration is $20 per car/per division. Grandstand admission will be $8.00 per person for everyone ages 13 and up. Children 12 years of age and under are admitted free if accompanied by a paying adult.

Purses will be based off car counts for each and every division.

Transponders and race receivers are not required for any of the divisions, but race receivers are strongly suggested.

Micro Sprint teams are welcome to use their own push vehicles as long as they do not enter the Little Diamond racing surface.

Please note that the track will not have a parts or fuel truck available on Thursday evenings. Please plan accordingly.
