BIG DIAMOND SPEEDWAY ENDS THE MONTH OF APRIL WITH A SHOWER OF ACTIVITY

MINERSVILLE, PA - APRIL 21th, 2013

After losing the last two Friday evenings events to rain, Big Diamond Speedway is hoping to ring out the month of April with a huge weekend of racing.

This coming Friday, April 26, Big Diamond presents the season opener for the URC Sprint cars. This will be the only appearance for the URC sprinters at Big Diamond in 2013, brought to you by Alpine Building Supply of Schuylkill Haven, PA. A stellar field of sprint cars is expected for this event, led by defending URC champion Robbie Stillwaggon. He will be joined by 2012 points runner-up Dave Franek and last years URC winner at Big Diamond, Kevin Darling. Former modified and late model standout Ed Aiken is expected, as is former Sportsman driver Joey Biasi, and former modified drivers Larry Kelleher, Scott Lutz, and Dan Mazy. Former Big Diamond Late Model Champion and multi-time feature winner Keith Prutzman will be in the field along with 2011 Georgie Stevenson Memorial winner Billy Pauch Jr. Make it a point to be there, as this is a show you do not want to miss.

On Saturday, April 27th, Big Diamond will present the second test and tune of the season on Big Diamond Speedway from noon to 2 PM. This will be followed immediately by the second Enduro of the season. The Enduro cars are schedule to hit the track at 3:00 PM.

The following Friday, May 3rd, Big Diamond presents the second of five shows this season for the Modifieds paying $3,000 to win and $300 to take the green. Defending point champion Craig Von Dohren took the first of these five events on opening day, and looks to add another victory to his Big Diamond resume. Two time winner Jeff Strunk looks to keep his hot streak going, while Meme Desantis, Frank Cozze, Doug Manmiller, Ray Swinehart, Kevin Albert Jr., and a host of others look to add their name to the 2013 win list.

Mark these dates on your calendar. As we move into the summer months the action is sure to heat up at Big Diamond Speedway.
