BIG DIAMOND HAS "WACKY WEDNESDAY" GIVEAWAYS, ENDUROS TO FOLLOW NEETS RULES REMAINDER OF SEASON

MINERSVILLE, PA - APRIL 13th, 2013

The fans and drivers were the big winners this past Wednesday, April 10th, when track owners Jake and Jasmine Smulley decided to have a day of giveaways for Big Diamond Speedway.

Twenty three different people won prizes from the track during the day long event, which was split into eleven different rounds. Items that were given away were as follows:

Round 1 - Free American Racer rear tire to first Modified or Sportsman team to call - winner was Gary Wagner (Modified car #47).

Round 2 - Free general admission pass ($15 value each) to the first three callers.

Round 3 - Free tire to the first Roadrunner driver to call - winner was Chris Holland (Roadrunner car #8c).

Round 4 - Free Big Diamond T-shirt to the first three callers.

Round 5 - One lucky fan was chosen to wave the green and checkered flags for Roadrunner warm-ups.

Round 6 - One lucky fan won a free Friday night pit pass ($40 value).

Round 7 - One lucky family won a free RockAuto.com Family Four Pack ($50 value).

Round 8 - One lucky fan won a free season pass ($325 value).

Round 9 - Free Big Diamond t-shirt to the first nine callers.

Round 10 - Free 2013 pit license ($90 value) to first driver to call - winner was Jeremy Becker (Roadrunner car #97).

Round 11 - VIP Experience for one lucky fan and seven of their closest friends ($300 value).

This event was a big hit with everyone involved and our way of saying thank you for the support shown so far in the 2013 season.

Racing resumes at Big Diamond Speedway next Friday, April 19th, with a regular show of ZY Pyrotechnics 358 Modifieds, USS Achey Sportsman, and Savage 61 Roadrunners. Also on the card next Friday will be round 2 of the Anthracite Coal Deliver Street Stocks.

In two weeks on Friday, April 26th, Big Diamond Speedway presents the season opener for the URC Sprint cars. This will be the only appearance for the URC sprinters at Big Diamond in 2013, brought to you by Alpine Building Supply of Schuylkill Haven, PA. They will be joined that evening by the 358 Modifieds and Roadrunners.

On Saturday, April 27th, we will present the 2nd test and tune of the season from 12 to 2 PM. Please note this is a change from the original date of May 4th. The test and tune will be followed at 3 PM by our 2nd Enduro of the season. Pre-registration forms for the Enduro are available on the tracks website at www.bigdiamondspeedway.net. Also, we would like all drivers to note that for the remainder of the 2013 season, we will be following NEETS rules for all Enduro events.

We are trying to find a new date for the AMA motorcycle race that was scheduled for May 4th. Stay tuned for details.

This coming Thursday, April 18th, will be the season opener for Little Diamond Speedway. The 125cc Micro Sprints, 270cc Micro Sprints, and Slingshots will be the three divisions competing on the Little Diamond.

Gates for Little Diamond Speedway open at 6 PM with warm-ups slated for 6:45 PM. Managements goal is to have the entire show completed in 2 hours or less each and every week to insure everyone gets home at a reasonable hour.

Pit participation fee will be $20 per person, with no age limits on who can enter the pit area. Pit membership is free, with no license required. Car registration is $20 per car/per division. Grandstand admission will be $8.00 per person for everyone ages 13 and up. Children 12 years of age and under are admitted free if accompanied by a paying adult.
