RISLONE URC SPRINT SERIES
TIM KELLY ENTERS RISLONE URC SPRINT SERIES SEASON OPENER
IN PIONEER POLE BUILDINGS EVENT AT BIG DIAMOND SPEEDWAY APRIL
26
All the way from Rock Stream,
NY, sprint car driver Tim Kelly is an early entry to take part in the Rislone
URC Sprint Series season opener sponsored by Pioneer Pole Buildings at the Big
Diamond Speedway on Friday night, April 26. Kelly, a veteran in sprint car
racing for twenty-one years, will again carry the familiar #12 on his Avenger
sprint car. His high powered 360 sprint car will be powered by a Finger Lakes
Auto Machine-Doug Holmes prepared engine. “We really want to run the entire
season with URC, but our family business (Vi-Kell Enterprises) often dictates
our schedule. Never-the-less, we plan to be at most, if not all the URC shows”,
said Kelly.
With twenty-one years of
driving experience to his credit, Kelly truly enjoys having fun when he is at
the track and he finds URC as an organization and its’ competitors fun to race
with. “Racing is all about going fast so I like the big tracks, especially
Williams Grove and Selinsgrove Speedway”, said Kelly. Both tracks are well
place with dates on the 2013 Rislone URC Sprint Series
Schedule.
When Kelly hits the road to go
URC sprint car racing his Crew Chief Eddie Vickio will lead the call on set-up
and look after every fine detail prior to going onto the track. Also on the
crew is Cliff Miller and Tim’s son, Tyler Kelly. Sponsorship support will
include VFL Energy Technologies, BR Motorsports and Vi-Kell Enterprises, the
Kelly’s family auto repair business.
2013 will mark the second
season for the double-file restart format in URC. The decision to go with
the double-file restarts had mixed views by the URC competitors at the start of
the 2012 season. By the end of the year, it pretty much became standard
practice. “I have no problem with the double-file restarts through the races
I was part of, I didn’t see it as a major deal,” added Tim Kelly.
The opener for URC will take
place at the Big Diamond Speedway located at 392 Forest Lane, Pottsville, PA
17901 (GPS Address). This is the first time in URC history that their opener
will take place at Big Diamond and the Pioneer Pole Buildings banner will wave
proudly when the racing program begins at 8:15 PM on Friday night, April 26.
Join
Tim Kelly in URC opening night roster will be defending Rislone URC Champion
Robbie Stillwaggon driving the Fred Kennedy owned #89. Also on the line-up grid
will be Ed Aikin of Lincoln University, PA, an eight time URC feature winner
and always a likely candidate to capture the championship title. JJ Grasso of
Pedricktown, NJ owns twenty-one career wins and was URC’s champion in 2009 and
will also be in the field at the Big Diamond URC opener. Other entries include
Kramer Williamson, Chad Trout, Josh Weller, Billy Pauch, Jr., Scott Lutz, Dan
Mazy, Keith Prutzman, Troy Betts, Randy West and Art Liedl, just to name a
few.

Diamond Speedway.
