RISLONE URC SPRINT SERIES

ART LIEDL & DAN MAZY LOOK FORWARD TO PIONEER POLE BUILDING RISLONE SPRINT SERIES OPEN AT BIG DIAMOND RACEWAY FRIDAY, APRIL 26

In the 2012 Rislone URC Sprint Series season finale, Art Liedl of Flemington, NJ scored his first career URC win. The victory came at the Grandview Speedway and it was a sweet win for Art who is now in his sixth season of URC. Liedl mastered the tricky one-third mile oval to easily take the win and the $3,000 first place prize in the event sponsored by Pioneer Pole Buildings. The URC season will open on Friday night, April 26 and once again, PPB will be the event sponsor. The Grandview season finale was a big night for Dan Mazy of Lions Station, PA. Mazy earned the 2012 URC Rookie of the Year Title and enjoyed his moment on the Grandview Speedway podium. Both Liedl and Mazy are quickly becoming a part of URC’s strong and bright future.

Liedl will be returning with his familiar #2 sprinter and sport a list of sponsors to include C&S Equipment, Downs Ford, Dynamic Pest Control, Simonek Performance, Dover Brake & Clutch, Action Pumping, Dave NMT Fitness, Art’s Radiator, Wm. Stothoff Wells & Pumps, Ford Power Stroke Diesel and Tapco Transmissions. Art’s gets great support both in the stands and of course, in the pit area from his loving family, which includes his wife Carol and daughters Brenda and Ashley. Former driver Karl Fryer is a key wrench as well as Donnie Burke.

“That win at Grandview was the highlight of my career and I will always be thankful to Fred Kennedy and Karl Fryer for all their help”, Art continued to say, “We’re excited about 2013 and we plan to run the entire URC schedule and we want to start the season, the way we ended 2012, with a feature win”.

“We run URC because there seems to be an even playing field, run by the rules and offers a good payout and, I think the competition is toward the top in the country. Overall, URC’s strength is the teching, rule enforcement and payout” , said Liedl. “As for my favorite track, well, I like Williams Grove but it doesn’t like me”.

Defending Rookie of the Year Dan Mazy and his Dead-A-Head Motorsports Team will be back with URC full time in 2013. In the new year, car owners Peach and Mark Mazy will be fielding a J&J Chassis powered by Don Ott motors. Returning as the team title sponsor is the Mazy family owned business, AGM Timber Service. AGM Timber Service is a timber harvest and timber management company based in Alburtis, PA. Also on-board for 2013 is Getz Service Station located in Breinigsville, PA on Route 222. Getz Service Station is an SAE Certified and AAA accredited full service garage and towing service. Pancho's Speed Shop, Dieffenbach’s Potato Chips and Stony Point Hot Rods are also part of the sponsor roster for the Mazy Team.

The folks behind the scene on the Mazy Team include Crew Chief George Trate, Lead Mechanic Scooter Krauss, on tires and fuel is Mark Mazy and Phil Rothermel, Merchandise is handled by Peach Mazy and Karlene Dietrich with Ariel Riley doing the photography work.
