JMO...

How many of you racing fan's in general may feel as I do, and would rather see the sportsman division run with a smaller style body to distinguish between the two modified classes? I honestly believe in short track racing, the sail panel is a distraction, and without them it would eventuall make the driver work harder and in time be a better well rounded driver, if they eventually made the move up into the 358 division. Pictured below would be a great example of a small body design in my mind for the support class. The Photo below is from 1991 with Dean Bachman, behind the wheel at penn national. 1. At Grandview, the point of the sail panel is to distinguish the sportman from the modifieds. If you can't tell the difference already, then a smaller body size isn't going to help anymore with that particular problem. Not only would a sportman driver have to buy/use another motor to compete in the 358 division, they would also have to buy/use an whole new body.

  2. I totaly agree with your statement, but I personaly believe they should have went the other way with the smaller body from the start. I'm sure some guy's have no plan's to make the move up. The guy's that do, have a chance to sell off some of their stuff before the new year. Both division's could use a serious make over. They do not resemble anything that is in production. Nascar finaly got one thing right this year.
