42nd SEASON OF RACING AT BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY STARTS WITH THE 60 OVER SPECIAL

Bridgeport, NJ (February 10, 2013) – The 42nd season of racing at
Bridgeport Speedway is set to start on Saturday, March 30 with three
extraordinary events on the 5/8th mile oval. “The 60 Over Special”
Race of Champions Big Block Modified race will be contested in honor
of Doug Hoffman, the former promoter of Bridgeport Speedway who passed
away on December 24, 2012. This 60-lap event will mark the first event
of the Big Block Modified Poker Series for 2013. A big field of
drivers is widely expected for this race. The new Crate/Sportsman
division is set to partake in the opening hand of their Poker Series.
The first race of the new Shoot Out Series for the Outlaw Stock Cars
will round out the card with the “Bill Reynolds Memorial 20” in memory
of the former novelty stand owner at Bridgeport Speedway. Pit gates
open 11:00 a.m. with the spectator turnstiles unlocking at 1:00 p.m.
Hot laps are set to get underway at 3:00 p.m. with racing starting at
4:00 p.m. Adult (16 and older) admission for the opener will be $25
with students (10-15) being admitted for $12. Kids 9 and under are
free. Admittance to the pits is $35.

Fast and Furious Friday night action on the quarter mile will get
underway on April 5. Micro-Sprints (270cc and 600cc) along with
4-Cylinder Stock Cars complete the lineup. Gates open at 4:00 p.m.
with the first green flag waving at 7:15 p.m. Adult admission is $10
with no charge for children 9 and under. Admission to the pit area is
$25 with a license and $30 without a license.

Prior to the opening events, competitors will be able to test their
cars. On Saturday, March 23, a combined practice session will be held
for both Friday and Saturday night races. The 5/8th mile racers can
test their machines on the outer oval from noon until 4:00 p.m. with
pit gates opening at 9:00 a.m. Quarter mile drivers can try their
rides on the inner dirt oval from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. with pit
gates unlocking at noon. Sunday, March 24 has been reserved as a rain
date for this combined practice with the same times.

In addition, the 5/8th mile racers will have one additional session on
Friday, March 29. This final practice before the opener will have the
pit gates opening at 4:00 p.m. and the three hour tuning period will
start at 6:00 p.m.

Pit admission for any of the test and tune sessions is $25 and no
license is required. Fans can watch all of the practices for free in
the main grandstand.

Bridgeport Speedway provides a safe and secure family atmosphere, free
parking, giveaways, and fan participation games. As a premier racing
complex, Bridgeport Speedway is a banked 5/8th mile dirt oval,
featuring a dirt 1/4 mile oval embedded in the center, and is located
in Southern New Jersey -- just minutes from Pennsylvania and Delaware
at exit 14 off of I-295.
