CHUCK SCHUTZ LOOKING FOR SEVENTH LATE MODEL CHAMPIONSHIP AT GRANDVIEW, NO SIGNIFICANT RULE CHANGES FOR 2013

BECHTELSVILLE, PA January 17, 2013 . . . Six times Grandview Speedway NASCAR Late Model champion Chuck Schutz will be looking to add his seventh title when he returns to action at the Bechtelsville clay oval come the 2013 season.
The veteran racer was able to squeak out the track championship in 2012 and was honored at the NASCAR Whelen All American Series banquet in Charlotte, NC in December for earning the NASCAR Finalist Division II Dirt honors topping a large number of national competitors.
Schutz will kick off the defense of his title when the tripleheader NASCAR show is presented on Saturday, April 6th at 7 p.m. The NASCAR 358 Modifieds, Late Models and Sportsman will featured with a full slate of qualifying events presented for each division topped by a 30-lap feature for the Modifieds and 25 lap features for both the Late Models and Sportsman.
A free-to-the-public practice session is set for Saturday, March 30th starting at noon. All divisions of racing are invited to participate in the annual practice day.
Event organizer Bruce Rogers has announced that there will be NO significant rule changes for the 2013 season. “We have cleaned out the rule book, eliminating rules that no longer made sense to have included.” said Rogers. “All racers planning to compete at Grandview Speedway should make sure they read the rule book so that there are no questions about rules enforcement.”
Racers using gasoline will continue to receive a 75 pound weight break. Doug Manmiller raced to a second place point finish in 2012 using racing gasoline and won two feature races. It is expected that several competitors will switch to the racing gasoline.
The Blast from the Past Vintage Racers will be back in action at Grandview Speedway as part of the previously announced schedule of Sunday Enduro races. The first doubleheader show of Enduro Racing and Vintage Racers will be taking place on Sunday, April 14.
“We do apologize to fans and racers that our website was down for several days.” said track marketing director Ernie Saxton. “Hopefully we now have that situation corrected allowing fans and racers to get the latest information at www.grandviewspeedway.com. The site is in the capable hands of Jeff Calpino.”
Season tickets continue to be available for just $335 and that includes a seat for each and every Saturday night event at Grandview in 2013. Season ticket holders are entitled to a reserved seat for each Saturday race. To purchase a season ticket please send a check covering the amount of season tickets being purchased, payable to Grandview Speedway, along with a self addressed stamped envelope.
