ANNUAL AWARDS BANQUET SET FOR SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 17TH


BECHTELSVILLE, PA October 11, 2012 . . . For the fifth time in his hugely successful auto racing career Oley, PA’s Duane Howard will be honored as the NASCAR 358 Modified champion at Grandview Speedway’s annual awards banquet set for Saturday, November 17th at the Gilbertsville, PA Fire Co. Social Hall. The banquet will conclude the 50th anniversary season of auto racing at the Berks County clay oval rated as one of the most successful weekly short track operations in the nation.
Chuck Schutz (Pottstown) will take home the championship honors for the sixth time in the NASCAR Late Model division as well as the NASCAR National honors in the Titlelist Division II Dirt standings.
And Jared Umbenhauer of Richland, PA will be honored as the NASCAR Sportsman champion as the Sportsman division celebrates a successful first season of racing at Grandview Speedway. Brad Brightbill has earned the NASCAR National honors in the Titlelist Division III Dirt standings.
Howard, Schutz and Brightbill have been invited to be part of the NASCAR Whelen All American Series Awards Banquet at the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte, NC in early December.
There are still a limited number of tickets available for the annual banquet and may be ordered through Vicki Gehris at 610.367.2776.
In addition top performers in all divisions will be honored and a variety of special awards will be presented.
It is IMPORTANT for drivers and owners to be aware that they must be in attendance at the banquet in order to receive their point money and awards.
Doors will open at 4 p.m. with dinner being served at 6 p.m. followed by the awards ceremony and music for dancing.
Information on the 2013 season will also be announced.

ANNUAL RACER FLEA MARKET IS SET FOR SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 11


The annual Grandview Speedway auto racing flea market is set for Sunday, November 11th. The flea market, a great opportunity to sell off some of the excess equipment and, perhaps, pick up a bargain or two, is set for the Grandview Speedway pit area and will open at 7 a.m. and continue until ???

BPG RACING FREEDOM 76 PROGRAM/YEARBOOK NOW AVAILABLE
The 52-page BPG Racing Freedom 76 Program/Yearbook, with 10 pages of color and a two page insert that lists the lap sponsors and other information, sold out before the first qualifying heat race of the $50,000 to win BPG Racing Freedom 76 Modified Classic at Grandview Speedway had been run.
Included in the book is stories on the 50 season history of the track by Randy Kane, the history of the BPG Racing Freedom 76 by Tammy Auman, stories on the various champions (Duane Howard, Chuck Schutz and Jared Umbenhauer) including large color photos, complete point standings for all divisions, a list of feature winners going back to the opening of the track, a large number of historic photos and much, much more.
Area Auto Racing News writer Debbie Smith wrote, "Ernie and Marilyn Saxton produced a beautiful 50th Anniversary Commemorative Program for the BPG Racing Freedom 76, loaded with color photos and facts and figures from Grandview’s fifty year (season) history."

AMB LATE MODEL TEAM NAMES NEW DRIVER FOR 2013 SEASON AT GRANDVIEW
AMB Motorsports is proud to announce that Danny Green of Coatesville, PA will be its driver for the 2013 racing season. Danny will drive the #46 NASCAR Dirt Late Model at Grandview Speedway and will be going for Rookie of the Year.
Danny started racing at the age of 13 in 1993, starting out in Go-karts at Shellhammer’s Speedway (Leesport, PA) he quickly moved to race at different tracks locally like Orville Kart Club (Topton, PA) and Marsh Creek Speedway (Glenmoore, PA). Over the years Danny has traveled to WKA races in different states and ran on tracks like Charlotte Motor Speedway. Two of Danny’s most valued wins were The Bridgestone National at Philadelphia Park and the Bobby Smith Memorial at Orville Kart Club. Danny even tried his luck in motorcycle racing in the District 6 AMA Flat Track Series coming in 4th in the Amateur Division in 2006 and was the North East National Champion in 2007.
Danny, 33, an auto body shop manager and father of 2, has been a member of the AMB Motorsports team for the last two years. 2013 is looking to be a fun and exciting year for AMB Motorsports with it being a family affair. Members include Scott Green, former Grandview Speedway Late Model champion Bob Higginbotham, Brett Higginbotham, Jesse Bivins, Michael Blackmon, Brandon Blackmon, Emily Blackmon and Amy Blackmon.
