THREE NEETS
ENDURO DIRT TOUR RACES REMAIN TO SETTLE THE 2012 CHAMPIONSHIPS…
September 9,
2012, Bechtelsville PA – The Scott Dunn Auto Service Dirt Tour will have a very
busy couple of weeks starting on Sunday September 23 at the 1/3 mile oval of
Grandview (PA) Speedway. As a matter of fact the NEETS Enduro racers will
compete in three races during a span of four weeks.
The “Junk-a-Thon”, which was postponed due to rain back on September 2,
will now take place on Sunday September 23. A pair of 100-lap Enduros (Big Cars
and Small Cars) will be held along with a 25-lap Ladies Race and twin 15 lap
features for the Blast from the Past Vintage Stock Cars. Racing begins at
1:00PM.
In the always entertaining Big Car class (6/8 cylinder cars), four
drivers have emerged victorious in the season’s first five races. Second
generation racing talent Chuck Eckert (Schuylkill Haven PA) unveiled a new car
at the start of this season and has been strong since the opening green. Eckert
is the only repeat winner thus far. Drew Ott (Schwenksville PA) was the season
opener winner, and also notched a pair of runner-up finishes. Pat Hires
(Levittown PA) and Chris Reichert (Orwigsburg PA) each own one victory in 2012.
The same storyline exists in the Small Car division (4 cylinder cars) as
four different drivers have emerged victorious in five races. Hires (Levittown
PA), driving double duty this year, scored a pair of wins this season aboard his
potent #2JR machine. Defending tour champion Brian Smith (Washington NJ) was
victorious in the season opener while Mike Dunn (Yardville NJ) earned his first
career triumph and Steve Wilson (Green Lane PA) won the most recent event held
in August.
Although the Big and Small Cars will have three point races remaining
(Sept. 23, Sept 30. and October 14), only two events are left for the Ladies
Division. They will compete in a 25-lapper on Sept 23 and a huge double points
paying 50-lap championship on Sept. 30. Winners thus far include: Jen Hausman of
Bechtelsville PA (2 wins), Corrine Harries (Bally PA) and Linsey Rummel
(Parkerford PA).
Adult general admission to a NEETS Enduro at Grandview Speedway is a very
fan friendly cost of just $7. At each show on Sept. 23, Sept. 30 and Oct. 14,
pit gates open for car registration and inspection at 8:00AM while grandstand
gates open at 12:00PM. For complete information on the North East Enduro Tour
Series, be sure to check the official website located at www.neetsracing.com .
