A series of rain
outs for the New Egypt Speedway has forced a log jam of make-up events heading
into the final point race of the season this Saturday night, September 29. As
a result of the now extended program and the always prevalent curfew, New
Egypt Speedway track management regrettably decided to cancel the Rislone URC
Sprints from the Saturday night racing event.
Discussions between
New Egypt Speedway and URC for 2013 race dates are already underway with
possibly three dates to be considered. Saturday night, July 6 is already a
tentative date for URC to return to New Egypt in the coming
season.
For the Rislone URC
Sprint Series, their final event of the season will now take place at the
Grandview Speedway on Saturday night, October 13 with the Pioneer Pole
Buildings 25 lap sprint feature event paying $3,000 to the winner. URC will
be part of the House of Thunder Halloween Party and Grandview Thunder 5-25’s.
For URC, the top twenty in points will make-up the starting line-up with the top
twelve inverted for their starting positions in the main
event.
The Rislone URC
Championship Title will once again be decided at the Grandview PPB season
finale. Robbie Stillwaggon of Burlington, NJ holds a twenty-five point
advantage over runner-up Davie Franek of Wantage, NJ. Both Stillwaggon and
Franek are looking for their first ever URC Championship Title. Point fund
money will be paid to the URC Owners immediately following the Grandview URC
feature event and a post-race URC Pit Party is being
planned.
The October 13 event
at Grandview will find the gates opening at 4 PM with race time for 6 PM.
Joining the URC Sprints will be the 358 Modifieds ($3,000 to win), ARDC
Midgets, Sportsman and Legends, each competing in a 25 lap feature event. Also
on the program will be the Vince’s Towing Owners Race and the Blast from the
Past & Garden State Vintage cars. The URC feature will be the finale,
with fireworks shooting off to honor the 2012 Rislone URC Championship winning
team. Following the championship celebration will be a Monster Smash
Demolition Derby.

Grandview Speedway
is a high-banked one-third mile clay oval, celebrating their 50th
Anniversary season in 2012. The facility offers free parking, quality food at
reasonable prices (be sure to try the french fries), a program book, Grandview
Speedway and Thunder on the Hill race wear and great viewing from every seat in
the house. Race fans may take part in the Inside/Out promotion, where you can
sign up (no charge) to watch warm-ups from inside turn four. Race fans are
also invited to victory lane following the racing program and, race fans may
enter the pits after the races to meet the drivers.
