1963 INDY 500 WINNER PARNELLI JONES WILL TALK ABOUT THE INDY 500 THAT GOT AWAY AT MOTORSPORTS 2013 RACE CAR AND TRADE SHOW

OAKS, PA SEPTEMBER 25, 2012 . . . Parnelli Jones won the most famous race in the world, the Indy 500 back in 1963, but he may be remembered more for the Indy 500 that he did not win. Jones, the oldest living past winner of the Indianapolis 500, will be part of the Motorsports 2013 Race Car and Trade Show, the 28th annual edition, at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, PA, January 18th thru 20th, 2013.
“As a Matter of Fact, I AM Parnelli Jones,” is Jones’ memoir, being written with well-known writer Bones Bourcier and to be published by Coastal 181 in late fall. Both Jones and Bones will be at the show on Saturday, January 19th to do a question and answer session that will allow fans in attendance to learn more about the fantastic career of a true legend in the sport. Jones and Bourcier will also spend time meeting with fans and autographing copies of the new book, which will be available at the Coastal 181 display.
Interesting to note that the title of the book came about as a result of being stopped by a police officer, for speeding, and being asked that obvious question, “Who do you think you are?”
Despite the fact that Parnelli Jones won the Indianapolis 500 in 1963 driving a race car named “Ol’ Calhoun” owned by noted race car owner, race promoter and garbage collector J.C. Agajanian(he made his money with trash/garbage collection in the Los Angeles area, Jones perhaps is best known for being the driver of the Andy Granatelli owned STP turbine car that dominated the Indy 500 in 1967 only to fall out while leading with just three laps remaining because of the failure of a cheap part.
Over the years Jones has been a winner in midgets, sprints, champ cars, sports cars, stock cars and off-road vehicles along with, of course, Indy cars. The 80-year-old retired racer and successful retail tire outlet operator is considered one of the most talented racers seen in the sport over the years.
The show, "The Mid-Winter Motorsports Happening", covers more than 225,000 square feet of exhibit space in a first class facility located in the suburbs of Philadelphia, PA.
Included in the popular show are speed equipment suppliers, part manufacturers, engine builders, race fuel dealers, trailer manufacturers, chassis builder, speedways, sanctioning organizations, collectibles, apparel suppliers and much more.
The show offers attendees the opportunity to meet famous personalities in the sport, collect free autographs, attend a variety of seminars, enjoy the annual BPG Racing Ms. Motorsports Pageant and be part of other entertainment opportunities.
Several sponsorship opportunities are available for the Motorsports 2013 and at very reasonable rates. There are many benefits included with the sponsorship of the 29th edition of the show. Packages being offered include the complete show and other opportunities. Full details can be had by contacting Ernie Saxton Communications, Inc. at 215.752.7797 or Email Ernie Saxton at esaxton144@aol.com.
Additional details on the show will be announced as the show dates draw nearer.
