BECHTELSVILLE, PA August 15, 2012 . . . Multi-time NASCAR 358 Modified champion Duane Howard has a comfortable edge in the chase for the lucrative track championship as the season winds down at Grandview Speedway. However a couple bad nights for Howard could mean someone else could take the title.
With just four point races left in the 2012 season Doug Manmiller finds himself in second spot in the championship chase for the NASCAR 358 title.
In the Late Models it is Chuck Schutz looking for his sixth track title while Jared Umbenhauer is in front in the new NASCAR Sportsman division.
This Saturday, August 18th, Hatfield Quality Meats will sponsor a four feature show of stock car racing with the NASCAR 358 Modifieds and Sportsman each racing in a feature while the Late Models will be seen in two 20-lap main events. The extra 20-lap feature for Late Models comes as a result of their feature being rained out last Saturday night.
Adult admission for the night is $15 while youngsters 12 and under are admitted FREE.
The Blue Bell Air Pick 3 Contest found in the track magazine is now offering $500 to the fan who can pick the top three finishers in the NASCAR 358 Modified feature in the correct order.
The Joey Adams Lettering Contest that gives a winner each week a chance to go to victory lane to have their photo taken with the winner after the BPG Racing Freedom 76 race continues.
Kauffman’s BBQ Chicken sponsors the August 25th four feature show that will include racing for the NASCAR 358 Modifieds, Sportsman, Late Models and the always exciting 1000cc Sidewinder racers.
There will be no increase in admission prices for this special four division show. Kauffman’s will have their Chicken Man giving out samples in the grandstands and the first 300 people through the front gate will receive Can Coolies.
It had been originally scheduled that the Sportsman feature rained out on August 11th would be run on August 25th but that has now been changed to September 1st.
Saturday night racing action gets the green flag at 7:30 p.m. with spectator gates opening at 5:30 p.m.
On Sunday, September 2nd the NEETS Enduro Racers will be in action in a 1 p.m. show. However the Blast From the Past Vintage Cars that are normally a part of the Sunday events will not be racing. The next event on the schedule for the Vintage Cars is Sunday, September 30th with the NEETS Enduro Racers.
