PRATT HOPS TO AN EASTER WEEKEND WIN AT BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY

Swedesboro, NJ (April 8, 2012) – On Easter Egg Hunt Night at
Bridgeport Speedway, Richie Pratt, Jr. took the checkered flag in the
Big Block Modified feature. The Crate Sportsman event was taken by
Travis Hill. Jeff Dirkes scored the win in the Outlaw Stock Car race.

After starting on the pole in the 30-lap Big Block Modified feature,
Richie Pratt, Jr. hopped out to the front. Quickly, Eric Kormann,
Jesse Hill, and Matt Harrell assembled in order behind Pratt. After a
caution flag on lap 4 for a slowing Corey Andersen, Harrell scooted by
Hill to gain third. With ten laps in the books, Pratt had developed a
sizeable lead over the pack. Further back in the field, Jimmy Horton
was accelerating towards the front. Horton, who started the race in
eleventh, was up to fifth with twelve tours recorded. Following a
restart on lap 12, Horton continued his advancement as he got by
Harrell and Hill to move into third. At the halfway point, Pratt was
in the process of building up another comfortable lead over his
rivals. With ten laps remaining, Horton was closing in on Kormann for
second. With Pratt still in control of the race and less than five
circuits remaining, Kormann and Horton were engulfed in a tight battle
for second with lap traffic coming into play. The final caution of the
feature occurred on lap 29 as Joe Masiado slowed in turn two near the
pit entrance. As the green flag waved one more time, Pratt kept his
lead and scored his fifteenth career Big Block Modified win at
Bridgeport Speedway. Kormann held off Horton to take the runner-up
position. With Horton taking third, Hill’s consistent and strong run
rewarded him with a fourth place finish. Ninth place starting Rick
Laubach wound up in fifth. The heat races were won by Rick Laubach,
Ryan Watt, and Matt Harrell.

In the Crate Sportsmen main event, Travis Hill became the leader with
two laps to go and kept his advantage in the final tours to win his
first race since 2010. Brett Kressley took the lead at the start of
the 20-lap affair. In the second half of the contest, Hill began to
apply pressure on Kressley for the top spot. On the eighteenth
circuit, Hill slid inside of Kressley in turn three and escaped with
the lead. Matt Budd got by Kressley on the last lap to claim the
runner up spot. With Kressley in third, Ryan Anderson and Tommy Beamer
completed the race in fourth and fifth respectively. Travis Hill and
Brett Kressley were victors in the qualifying events.

After winning the Outlaw Stock Car heat race, Jeff Dirkes completed
his night by capturing the 15-lap feature. At the start of the
feature, Terry Griffin took the lead with Dirkes motoring into second.
Quickly, Griffin and Dirkes became engaged in a race long tussle for
the lead. Dirkes took over the top spot on lap 6 with Griffin
regaining the position on the next circuit. On lap 10, Dirkes became
the front runner again and led the final few laps to rack up his first
win since May 5, 2007. Brian Ludwig came on strong in the final lap to
wind up in second. Ron Dirkes, Bob Hopely, and Terry Griffin rounded
out the top five.
