PRATT WINS RAIN SHORTENED MODIFIED FEATURE AT BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY

Swedesboro, NJ (April 22, 2012) – On Food Drive Night at Bridgeport
Speedway, Richie Pratt, Jr. scored his second win of the season during
the rain shortened Big Block Modified feature. Ken Eckert, Jr. took
home his first checkered flag of his career in the Crate Sportsmen
event. Due to the rain, the Outlaw Stock Car main event was postponed
and will be made up at a future date.

In the scheduled 30-lap Big Block Modified feature, Jack Swain grabbed
the lead on the opening circuit with Ryan Watt, Scott Ambruster, Stan
Frankenfield and Ron Roberts in tow. After several early race cautions
and restarts, Watt remained in front and had a comfortable advantage
over his rivals with ten laps completed. Behind the leader, Richie
Pratt, Jr., Jimmy Horton and Rick Laubach were in tight quarters and
putting on a terrific battle for the runner-up spot. With fifteen laps
recorded, Watt’s lead was beginning to diminish slightly as the fight
for second place was continuing. On lap 18, Watt pulled into the
infield with a mechanical issue and Pratt, Jr. inherited the lead just
as a few sprinkles began to fall from the sky. On the next circuit,
the white flag waved as the shower began to intensify. The checkered
flag unfurled on the twentieth tour as the rain began to pelt the dirt
oval and Pratt, Jr. recorded his second win of the 2012 season. Horton
completed the race in second with Laubach taking third. Brian Kressley
wound up in fourth. Mike Barone crossed the line in fifth. Watt and
Laubach won the Big Block Modified heat races.

Ken Eckert, Jr. paced the field from start to finish as he won the
20-lap contest for the Crate Sportsmen. Starting on the outside pole,
Eckert, Jr. outgunned Brad Roberts for the lead as the green flag
waved. In the final two laps of the race, Eckert, Jr. held off his
competitors in the midst of heavy lap traffic to record his first
career win. The runner-up spot went to Roberts. Tommy Beamer advanced
two positions on the final circuit to finish in third. Steve Davis and
Brett Kressley rounded out the top five. The Crate Sportsmen
qualifying contests were taken by Matt Budd and Ryan Anderson

With the heavy rains, the Outlaw Stock Car feature was postponed. This
main event will take place at a future date. In the heat race, Terry
Griffin bested Jeff Dirkes by the narrowest of margins.

Bridgeport Speedway provides a safe and secure family atmosphere, free
parking, giveaways and fan participation games. Billed ‘The Fastest
Dirt Track in the East’, Bridgeport Speedway is a banked 5/8th mile
dirt oval, featuring a dirt 1/4 mile oval embedded in the center, and
is located in Southern New Jersey -- just minutes from Pennsylvania
and Delaware at exit 14 off of I-295.

NOTES: After the qualifying events were completed, a brief but heavy
rain shower caused a delay in the running of the feature events. The
track crew worked feverishly to get the track back into racing
condition. A large majority of the racecars aided the Speedway by
helping to run in the track.
